Unlike in the other Countries this kind of practice is not entirely known, I wonder if it is poverty is the main reason why people indulged in this actvity, here in Mindanao last night another american was released and paid an amount after negotiation of a hundred grand from an original of 10 million.

Since many people are not educated and the influnces of movies where the heroes becomes villain and in the end people might forgive then forget. Many pilipino special those who are aspirated by old pinoy movies where they think commiting crime is the only way to get things u wanted.

I am not really sure the reasoning behind it but several reasons come to my mind that it is either greed, poverty and simply wrong doings. So unfortunate though for the innocent people and I do hope that all come out of this whole situation safe.

As long as the PNP continues to be inefficient and corrupt then sad to say kidnappers will continue to reap the harvest of their evil ways. Easy money abducting innocent people, asking for money...perhaps killing the poor victims if their family failed to pay the price of their freedom. We dont need to modernize our police...Just change their culture of arrogance and hooliganism into dedication to duty, honesty and discipline.
