I personally prefer the VLC player over the real player and over any other player in truth. The VLC player pretty much plays anything and everything in terms of formats
.
Although I don't really know the full capabilities of the real player as I've found it awkward compared to other players
.
I'm sure they can both work on the same system though,can't see why they wouldn't

my suggestion is vlc is good for all type of formats its like a universal player........... where real player is not...but real player is good for playing rmvb format types
