what will you do if you have a son who weighs 60 kilos? If your son screams when you don't allow him to eat more than 1 bowl of rice and meal, will you just let him scream or will you just allow your ears to be tortured with the noise? What will you do if your son won't exercise even when you do tell him to exercise...and play outdoor games? Do you think the parents are to be blamed for this situation? If you were in the shoes of the parents, how would you react if people blame you for your child's obesity. I am very curious since I have a 5 year old toddler, but he's definitely not overweight, nor is he malnourished. He's just a picky eater...we just give him some vitamins to boost his appetite. You can read the articles online, just type the keywords; Lu Hao, 60 kg. kid from china

I saw a story like this the other day and this little boy was so huge at 3 years old he could barely even move. I would give him carrots to munch on all day and cut his meals down to only what he needed for proper nutrition. And get him outside and play with him.. that's the best way to helpkids be active anyway - play with them.

So I guess you start playing more active games indoors (safely of course) then cut out all starches and fats...give the kid small amounts of protien and get it from beans rather than meat and feed him carrot sticks all day for snacks!! There are ways if the parents really care!

that's one of their biggest problems, the child just won't play outdoors, he wants to play indoor games...

We only allow second helpings of fruits and vegetables in our home so our kids have a choice of something healthy or nothing. We leave that choice to them. I do not give in to crying for anything. I tell them no crying. If that doesn't work I put them to bed. I will not take that type of behavior. Crying is for pain not wants. If they do not want to play because of the TV or video games I would take them away. Our TV is not allowed on before dinner time at all during the day. They have no choice but to play.

it sounds harsh but it is all they know so to them it is normal and it wasn't long ago that all families only watched TV after dinner or didn't even have one. Not that long ago that families didn't do second helpings at all unless they where rich enough to. It is not mean to insist on being healthy.

I don't think so that parents can be blamed for this. Its all about luck, no one can do nothing only they can do that take precautions about the child. Don't give him such type of food which is enrich and contains a high amount of Fat and also try to consult any health doctor as soon as possible..........

you may think that way because you have no idea how big the child is...i think that the parents are partly to be blamed by this...they overindulged...
