What do you think about in the near future everyone having to have health insurance like automobile insurance? I don't agree with this. It's hard enough paying for everything that we have to pay for. I think to have it a requirement to have health insurance is not fair for a lot of people. Some people for example prefer alternative means for health and to have to pay for something you don't want isn't just. I guess though it doesn't matter when it all comes down to it, when they require us to have it.

Insurance is not an alternate of the damages. it is just a psychological satisfaction. Who can reward the damage of feelings attached with things insured. A car when purchased, used, driven had memories of some one love, some stories, lovely quarrels, happiness, enjoying journeys and lovely meetings. which company can provide the alternate of all this. NO one.

The trouble with health insurance is what procedures do they allow and what medications they pay for. And of course if you want to do the natural way, like get the health products from the health food store, the insurance will not pay for them. They will only pay for the prescriptions the doctor gives you, if at all. The other thing is that with national health insurance, the insurance company decides what to pay the doctors and if the doctor does not get what he deserves he leaves. Also with health insurance, they decide that no one over a certain age get an operation even if some of them may have qualified when America did not have a Obamacare.
The ones in Europe are probably used to that their grandmother cannot get a liver transplant because she is in her 80s. America has not got that way yet.
I prever elective health insurance and the natural way of curing oneself. And the chance that would have been offered to me to cure my infertility forty years ago had I lived in the States instead of in Canada.

There are people outside the USA who already have to have health insurance. No choice! America has been a third world country as far as health is concerned, much on a par with India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, etc. Now if you really want to become civilized, you'll have to pay for it. Europeans have paid for decades.

Hi Dominique, In my opinion having a health insurance is good even if we seldom use it because we don't know when we gonna need the most. Good health is one of our investment to our self to be able to live long and to be with our love ones. We don't plan to get sick and health insurance have a big role on it specially on the hospital bills. Regarding the automobile insurance, that depends if you have a car or not. If i have a car, i will definitely pay for car insurance because we don't know what will happen on the road. Accidents always happens on the road even if you are a defensive driver. If you don't have a car, then why should you pay for a car insurance? There's no use, your just wasting your money on that type of insurance which you will not benefit on it.
