Aha - proof! Well maybe not...

First I post a discussion this morning about bad news. Then I post one on a lighter note. The first discussion has 13 responses so far, and the second one has 7. So does that mean that all those people who came by and said they would rather see more good news are really a bunch of bad news loving grumpy guts? Or is it just a sign of absolutely nothing except for the possibility that statistics can be used to prove practically any point? And how many of you think that this discussion is going to survive? Please support your arguments, or feel free to drop by with any random remark that happens to be on your mind.

As to whether your discussion might be yanked, I still maintain that, ultimately, all posts are polls! It's just that some are less obvious, & MyLot fudges on the rules to let them go unchecked. (There. That should get me yanked, at least! )
Re stats, I tend to agree with Ben Franklin, who said (see sig):

I seem to gravitate to the bad news more. I read them and hope I can help. But then again I'm a recovering pessimist.

I dropped by both then I had a cyber coffee and doughnut party along with you and many others so I had to take a break to make dinner and ear real food.
I think this one will survive at least through the night because it's pay day so no once really is worried about much a the moment.
Argument supported.

I could use more coffee and donuts right about now. Or maybe a candy bar.

Hey, Dawnie, I will run by them both, probably, now that I caught up on my runaway discussion. I like those kind. I think statistics can prove most anything. Hubby says he wants the raw data. I guess my random remark is that donuts or doughnuts are good anytime of the day or night.

Leave a few, take a few, whichever. We could give Mo and Boo some donuts so that they would let Elic sleep.

I had nothing to add to either discussion.
Stayed up all night reading Something Rotten.

I think that the statistics would have to include times across the world and so forth. Doesn't mean we are grumpy guts. Not them anyway! I know I am and take full responsibility for being just that. I even read afew from earlier where people were in a bad mood too. Sad. You could be right!

maybe they just didnt get to the other one yet? or maybe a lot are like me and just decide some days that so many of their friends have discussions and they will only have time to answer one, so they delete without looking at them and go to one and answer of each friend. actually i think i may have commented on both yesterday, as most my friends didnt have discussions.

Oh who knows. Not everybody is obligated to go to all my discussions or even any of them, it was just funny...

Actually, papa's system is giving problem, so he is using mine intermittently... I know you posted totally three discussions, and I am just moving backwards. :) Obviously, the lighter one will get attended to first because it will follow this in the list..:)

I think with myLot, it's all random . . . the number of responses doesn't reflect which discussion people are more interested in. People like me who have limited time to be on myLot just pick and choose the discussions we have time to give input into (sorry I'm MIA sometimes!) Looks like this discussion is thriving anyway! Spring Break this next week - oh how will I occupy 2 kids all day (it's been a while). I have all these plans, so I may be MIA once again!!

Oh - I would love to take the kids to both those places!! We ended up going to The Aboretum, Skirball, and the Zoo (all for free) among other little local places (not in one day of course). You waved - ha ha - I thought I felt a breeze - hee hee!

I can't keep up with all of them, but I try to respond to as many as I can get to, as long as it's not one of those "make money online" or "what's your favorite color" type of things.

I would have to say that most people are really interested in the bad news. Maybe because bad news are usually naturally more interesting and amazing than the good ones.
As for this discussion I feel that this discussion will hold through until tomorrow morning or so. Its just a guess though and i reallyd dont have any thing to back it up. Just a guess.

Statistic are only for anaylst who have nothing better to do. Unfortunately, I think people pay more attention to bad news then good news. Bad news has more of impact for me. I don't know why. I'm guessing it's that way with everyone. Also, I found your first discussion more in my realm of interest. I've never heard of the song your children were listening to. So I couldn't make comment on that. Best Wishes!

You're not the first person who said that about the song. And anyway nobody should feel that they're obligated to visit any or all of my discussions, it was just a funny observation.
