Hey to all music producers out there! I just read about the new Cubase 6 and Fl Studio 10 and I thought that maybe some mylotters are making music too so I want to start a discussion about all the different DAWs. Lets debate about the pros and cons or just which one you use and why! (If you don't know what a DAW is: DAW stands for DigitalAudioWorkstation and I think now you can guess whats the use of it ;) You can use a DAW to record different instruments/vocals or to make music on a completely digital way.) I'm using Presonus Studio One. I started to make music with FL Studio (I think it was Version 6 but I'm not sure) but after about 2 years I saw a magazine about music producing and all this nice stuff and after reading about reason, Abelton and cubase I thought... forget FL you need something new! I downloaded Reason and it was just great! Something totally different. And everybody who used Reason one time knows what I mean. In Reason you got the possibility to build a full rack of stuff like a Mixer, Synth, Effects and then you can turn the rack around and link up the cabel network! Just awesome! But I wasn't able to use my VSTs and recording Vocals wasn't possible with my version too (the new version now supports this!) So I downloaded the demo of Abelton Live 7 and I really don't like it. Everything I was making with it sounds like the music of an old gameboy-game or something else from nintendo. I mean I was able to make better music with FL :P And then after going back to FL and Reason (found out to use them together ;) ) I was reading this FANTASTIC magazine again and what did they test? Presonus Studio One. First thing I did after reading the test was downloading the demo and next month I bought it. I'm really in love with this DAW. The workflow is really thought-out so you can work very fast without loosing any quality! And you always keep track of your whole song. Now its your turn! Tell about your experiences!
