Granted, I don't have first hand experience but I completely disagree with the statement money can't buy you happiness because it can! If I was rich, I wouldn't have to think about how to pay the bills or worry about financial problems and debt. Those are my only two worries, so I wouldn't have any and would live life with no worries and be the happiest person alive. In marriage, the number 1 reason for divorce is financial problems. The number 1 fight is over finances....so I think that proves the point that without those burdens, you can be happy.
Do you think money can or can't buy you happiness?

Sure it would be nice to not have to worry about financial problems anymore. That would take away your stress about money which would make you relieved and therefore happy. But it can't make you happy and fill the void that your relationship you have with your family. Thats rediculous to say that money can replace any of those kinds of things. Money isn't everything but yes it would be nice to not have to worry about it and take away that one aspect of life.

I completely do agree with you, because in todays world money can buy you almost anything.I should not even use almost because money is capable of buying anything in this present world.Happiness is directly proportional to your satisfaction index and I feel witha lots of money you definitely can get to that satisfaction level where you can be happy. And who says money can not buy love it definitely can.Ask yourself you might already have bought love.

Yes, I believe in you. Money is so important in life, if you have many of this, you have many fake friends too who will suck your money. You can buy all you want, and it's so very easy to sleep because you will not thinking what will you do tomorrow, what to eat, etc... Life is so easy because you have plenty of money, and of course, many people will respect you too because you have money. Money means power, you will be high in everybody's eyes.

personally its all a matter of what makes a person happy. for some people out there money could buy them happiness, by having every thing that they want and not having to worry about bills and things like that. then you have those people that all that they would need to be happy is friends and family. personally for me there no amount of money in the world that could make me happy. i would rather take the love from my friends and family any day and it doesn't cost me a thing. i know that there are homeless and poor people out there that are happy with there lives just the way they are. i just think that money can cause more unhappiness then happiness.

Misc11,
You are right when you say money can buy lots of things like food, water. electricity , cars , houses etc. It can also buy you very good doctors and best treatment so can prolong life and yes money is a big source of fight among spouce too. I dont know if money can buy you happiness or not but poverty surely can not make you happy. So if money may not buy happiness for you but it makes your life comfortable and creates an enviornment that can make you happy. I feel money can buy you so many things including the best treatment for you and your loved ones so you can proloing your life and your loved ones life, what else proof do anyone need to know if money can buy happiness.

I have never seen it truly happen for me or for anyone else. We can be blinded into thinking that maoney can buy us the happiness we seek. In reality, it isn't money that brings us happiness. It is living life and going after what we want with the people who inspire us.

I believe that money can buy happiness. I know a lot of people who are rich who are very happy with there lives. I don't think money is the only reason why people are happy with their lives but I believe that money can make your life better. You can enjoy a lot of things if you have the money to spend for it. You can go on vacations and eat good food. Lets face it we live in a material world and the only way to acquire those material things is having the money to spend for it.

Chances are you are already a happy person. Everyone has worries but that doesn't mean they can't be happy. I worry about finances sometimes, but I'm still happy.. And with more money, I'd still be happy. I don't know if money would buy happiness for someone who is truely depressed though.

There are things that money can't buy, that is a fact. But money is also crucial in our lives. If we don't have money, we can't satisfy our needs. True, being with someone can make us happy but if we can't feed that someone, there will come a time, he/she will leave us.

i think that depend on what is happiness in every one life. what i mean is that if for someone being happy is the fact of having a very big house and if that person has money than money can buy his happiness. but if being happy for someone is to have his or her own biological child but that person cant so no money cannot buy happiness.

maybe I would say yes but not all the time, what if you are in the stage of moderate life style which is you have to work a lot and the happiness you wanted is not capable for the many you have...I would rather say true happiness is comes from the peaceful life and comes from your inner self.

money can solve your financial worries, but it does not guarantee happiness. money can't buy you love for sure... based on statistics, financial issue is not the number one reason [but it's in the top 10] for breakup in a marriage, although to some it may be a big factor depending on the standard of life one wish to pursue.

Hi misc,
When happiness depends on something else, it is true. For most of us, happiness is conditional thing, not an inherent attribute so we look outward to satisfy it. After all, we are responsive to outside stimuli and no amount of inward conditioning could convince us that we are happy all the time.
Some, people however, managed to bypass these conditions and they achieved happiness their own way without outside intervention. In sickness and health, being rich or poor, they find happiness there.
For us, who still struggle with this dilemma, a few thousand bucks could bring a wide smile that lights up the sky even at the darkest of nights.
