Now that's a Deal!

Has anyone ever seen the show extreme couponing? I haven't watched it myself, but I've long heard of women in the U.S. getting money back on huge grocery orders. It boggles my mind that it's even possible to do that.
I would love to be able to even just cut my grocery bill down a decent amount, but where I live we don't even get decent coupons to start with. It's always on some junk item I never use, and the odd time I do get something worthwhile, it's just a few cents off of an expensive item. Also, we generally aren't allowed to stock up on anything; it's always limited to 3 or 4 per household.
Do you find that you're able to get really good deals with coupons when you make your market? Are there any Canadians, especially in Ontario, who know where and how to get good coupons for groceries? I just saw 6.08$ butter the other day, and I'm sure times are only gonna get worse before they get any better. It'd be great if you could share info that would help us all live a little easier.

i forgot to watch it last night. i think these people are a little over the top because they end up stockpiling things that they really don't need (who need 10 years of stuff? won't the best before date make them useless?)
any way, here in canada it is illegal to pull the tricks that these Americans do in stores anyways.

Well, I wouldn't mind the chance to get 10 years ahead on stuff like toilet paper and that.
I didn't realize that they were using tricks. What kind of tricks?

Actually, they aren't "saving" anything but their regular weekly grocery bill. Plus...do you ever see, as it is never shown..that they seldom buy produce, meats, dairy stuff...things that you actually use to make dinner tonight with?

I've never actually seen the show, but if you can save a lot on the paper products, then I guess you can afford to pay full price for the food items.

I've never seen the show, but I do love coupons! The problem is, just as you said, the coupons are rarely for the items that I need. go figure, right? I do occasionally get a coupon for something I do need and even then it's limited. I look through flyers and websites and even magazines for coupons. You'll never knwo what you'll find!

I haven't tried looking for coupons online. Basically I just wait for the publi - sac to come every week and look for the sales.
Every now and again we get an enevelope of flyers, but again, it's all junk; things like 405% off duct cleaning and nonsense like that
Once in a blue moon I'll get something useful in a magazine, but I rarely buy magazines.
