Would you say that your driving habits has changed since gas has went up? I would say that for recreational things are driving habits are changing because of the gas price. We try to be more conservative as well with the way we drive. Like not taking off or stopping fast. Taking care with oil changes to help with gas mileage. Hopefully these things can help a little because gas keeps increasing.

Well, we had to trade in our Subaru Forrester a month ago due to the raising Gas prices and having to drive back and forth over 30 minutes to work for a Toyota Prius. And we are glad we made this choice. The $$ we are saving each time we drive somewhere knowing we are now going thru gas a lot less, and getting around 47 mpg helps.
But even still, we have to plan to STOP on our way home when we need something, and when making special trips make a list and try to get everything done at once. I think it will continue to get worse, and have to pinch pennies even more as things continue to rise.

Oh goodness...I started hypermiling back in 2008 when gas reached $2.00 a gallon and I thought that was bad. I still think it's bad...yes, gas really should be $5.00 per gallon to reach inflation, but I'm not willing to spend that much without changing the way I handle things. My income isn't rising, so my expenses aren't going to. I'll turn my car off at stop lights if they stay red longer than 30 seconds, and I'll put the car in neutral when I can so the only gas it uses is for the car to run. I've saved a ton of money doing this.
Now, gas is $3.88 today where I'm at, and even with hypermiling my expenses are going up. So my husband and I have been taking advantage of the spring weather by leaving the car at home and walking to where we need to go. The other day we walked together to the bank to deposit a check and the library to take some movies and books back, and today we walked to the grocery. We plan on not driving unless we have to for time constraints, or picking others up. My mother can't drive, and we have to leave to pick her up in a few minutes and see her new condo. Unfortunately, you can't pick somebody up while walking.
Not only that, but we don't go out unless we need to buy necessities. My husband will sometimes walk or bike to work, and I don't work outside the home unless one of my tenant's properties needs something fixed (which is rare). We used to only drive to the grocery, the dollar store, and other stores for necessities, and now we're walking. Hopefully we'll get to a point where we rarely use the car except for winter time...and even then, my husband loves to walk in snow, so he'll be doing all the shopping.
Some people don't like to think about walking to get somewhere...trust me, it's been fun, not to mention romantic, and it saves a ton of money. It's a great way to be frugal, and you don't have the stress of traffic jams and watching your fuel tank deplete. Go out of your comfort zone to save money, and you might find you enjoy the new habits while saving the money.

Well I live in a small town and sometimes when I'm annoyed in order to clear my head and calm down I go for a drive on this one road and enjoy it. I don't do that anymore.
You know life is hard when gas prices are higher than your GPA.

I haven't changed all that much. I never drove really far except for concerts in a city about an hour away from me. I have another one coming up and the gas prices stink...but I am still going to go. Luckily for me, my friends and I stick close to home for our fun.

I never changed my driving habits, but i changed my transportation habit.
Instead of using my car,i prefer to commute when going to work, esp when it is not rush hour.
Or,when going to mall, just for some wind up..me and my kids prefer to ride the jip.
So,we only uses the car when we have to do some groceries,or go to places that is a bit far from our place.
