I anyone out there can tell me a simple way I can speed up my computer. I have already place 2 chips of 2 gbs and upgraded form 150 gbs to 250 gbs. Place advanced system care on the desktop and Upgraded the Internet explorer and Firefox and some other stuff which didn't work. I use Avast antivirus and upgraded it so it's not a virus. Any one out there can help me. Thanks?

They are three things that every body can do to speed up our computer and it must be done at least once in a week. For the first time it may take some time but it will then take less time from second and third time onwards. 1. Always empty recycle bin 2. Do disk defragmentation 3. Do disk clean up. Do do 2 and 3 just go to start menu and then search for disk cleanup and disk defragmentation. Other simple techniques include uninstalling the unwanted soft wares, using less number of desktop widgets and also reducing the number of programs that starts running when your systems starts

The use of excessive hardware isn't the best one. When we have the vital resources and the a little knowledge I must say we can make our system work fast and good. The option to enhance the start up can be done by first typing in the command msconfig in Run, then selecting the custom selection or custom boot up. Then stopping the unneeded services running in the list that shows it. This enables the easy and speedy start up of the computer. In windows operating system would this be applicable. Other methods would be like disk clean up and then De-Fragmentation, the similar software for speeding the computer also does the same thing and may be a little less effective than we do it manually, indeed. These methods are very useful in computer's performance enhancing and timely formatting the disk drives around quarter of a year is best too. The disk drives are main areas that decide the speed and performance of the system overall. Try out the methods to find some useful results.

Thank you very much for you response, I use to do the first option with my Toshiba it was a windows XP and that use to worked great, but yesterday after writing this comment I downloaded tune up utilities 2011 and it defrag. and clean the disk. and i reinstall the 4 gbs. and now the computer is much faster. i used all the opinion from everyone yesterday to resolve this problem. I know excess use of hardware isn't good, but i love fast, speed is great.

The easy steps are all these, right. Good to know that the tune up utility helped you well. 4GB of RAM will more than enough and is it DDR3 or DDR2 and I would say the 64bit system will only be experiencing the speed of it otherwise with 32 bit I guess 4GB will show only 2GB speed, indeed. Speed is loved by all and we do want things to get completed quick and easy, huh. Wish you a good computing all day long.

Have you checked your processor? Even if you have upgraded the RAM and hard disk and all the software, the question is can your processor handle everything. When you upgraded your computer did you check all major components? It's not just the size of the memory and softwares, keep that in mind.

I wish I could. Unfortunately, this is not my field of expertise. I've asked several questions about computer issues. People here are really glad to help. Best Wishes!

HI, you can download speedupmypc software. If you do not like that one than you have to make some space in the C drive. And try to remove all the unwanted material. Do n ot use any heavy software such games and all that.If u are using then it will make your pc slow. You can use PC tune up software that will remove the unwanted files and make the system fast. Do scan your pc with updated antivirus. Thanx

it's not much but perhaps it will help you, try to keep your desktop as empty as you can, because a overloaded desktop consumes RAMs at every operation. Also empty your recycle bin frequently
