The Eagle

Thanks for bringing this up. I am also interested in watching that movie, and I would like to ask if someone here has succeeded downloading this movie in file sharing sites like 4shared.com or isohunt.com? I am interested in downloading a copy of it.

The Eagle starts well but gets slower in the middle but overall its a decent movie.Its about disappearance of ninth legion, its based on a novel actually.I didnt like this movie much as its about how great Romans were and all that , having said that lead character is good who is trying to get back the symbol of victory and honor ,that is the golden eagle who was lost when his father who was commander of ninth legion disappeared,its important for him so tha the gets back the lost name and pride of his family.However if you like this story of ninth legion and its disappearance in my opinion movie called Centurion is much better that this one and much more entertaining.If you have already seen Centurion then you will find this movie just average.

It's the standard of the legion. It was a pole topped by a gilded eagle with the wings outstretched. Beneath the eagle was a sign with the legions name and number on it. In this case it was the 9th Hispana and the sign will have read: "Legio IX Hispana." It's supposed to be the story of the 9th legion that is supposed to have been destroyed in Scotland - though there is no evidence that actually did happen. What did happen is that the Legion vanishes from the records but there is no mention about what happened to it. There have been several books written based on the story and the gist of the thing is they ware trying to reccover the eagle standard of the Legion.

It's a remake of an older movie i think, its also based on a true story of a legion that goes in search of their eagle. The eagle is kind of like the flag that a battalion would carry into battle
