Who is the best player in the soccer world right now?

I think lionel messi still the best in the soccer world,even so many people say "messi is born,from different world"i think with his skill when bringing the ball very calm and very enjoy,like a child who play soccer in the street with his friends. how about you,what do you think?

I would say that there are actually two players who can stake a claim to this title. And both play in the spanish La Liga. One is of course Messi and believe me there is nothing messy about this kid. He let's his foot do all the talking. And the other is CR7 (Christiano Ronaldo) who of ends up talking with mouth more than his foot, but there is not doubting that he is one of the all time great footballers when he gets the ball on his foot. What is phenomenal for both the players is their work rate and the amount of goals that they score!! But I prefer Messi over CR7!! Cheers! Ram

Actually both have been pretty ineffective for their respective countries. Ronaldo's performance with the Portugal team has also been nothing really to talk about. The only time they did well as a team was when they made the Euro finals, but that was at home and the the core of the team was the Champions Trophy lifting Porto team. He played his part, but was definitely not the standout player in the team. Similarly, Messi has so far not been a talisman for the Argentinian team. I think he relishes playing when he gets more and more of the ball which is why the Barcelona style works for him best. Cheers! Ram

after saw el classico,i think both of player was proved they are just the best player right now,i really agree that until now messi over cr7,but how if messi doesnt have partner like xavi and iniesta behind him?? can the messiah still do like what we've seen? this question is almost arise because when messi perform for national team,his like alone weithout player can be good partner for him. and cant do better like in the barcelona.

I don't really like Messi actually. But I agree, at least for now, he's one of the best player in the world. Hope he can maintain his performance until couple of years, since he still young in age also.

Until Messi retires he is still the best player in the world. And has the distinction of being the best player in the world who has NEVER scored a goal against the US National Team.! Zelo

nobodys perfect,some people say messi is not perfect yet before his win world cup,and equal to diego armando maradona,but with his all break record in soccer history, i agrre with your comment about messi retires and still the best

Lionel Messi and Wayne rooney are close contendors for the Best Player! Messi is a craazy player but he lacks compusure. Rooney has the makings of a great player and can surely overtake messsi if he relaxes and p-lays sensibly on the field!!

I think at the present movement it is L Messi clasely followed by C Ronaldo i think Messi has consistently performed well for Barca and shown he is a class player

Yes, yes, and yes Lionel Messi is without a doubt the best player in the soccer world. When he plays he makes soccer look as thou it was the easiest game to play. to be great you must make the game look easy and he does that. he has to continue to work hard because Cristiano Ronaldo is a close second!
