Do you have a lawer? How does him or her work for you?

Hey, everybody here! I am curious to know where are you from and whether you have a lawer?
As I come from China, people do not usually have nothing to do with lawer except they get in trouble and need to do something by law. So, in our society, we don't have our own lawer if we do not need to sue somebody. Sometimes when we need to consult something we may look for a lawer or someone who knows more about law for help.
But, as I far as I know, some people in western have their own lawer. They often say: Hey, I have my lawer and I have asked him before!
That confuses me lot. Who would like to explian your relationship between you and your lawer? Do you have a lawer? How does she or he work? When do you need to consult yours?

A lawyer is an expensive pet to keep, only affordable by the rich and famous. They will answer when you call, and bite people at your command. If you want to cheat and not get caught, you consult a lawyer. Be warn that sometimes they will fail miserably too and both you and your lawyer can end up in the jail. There are a lot of lawyer jokes you can find on the internet. Have a look and have fun.

A lawyer is an expensive pet to keep. Wow, my friend, I must say you are so humorous! Yeah, I believe having a lawyer costs someone a lot of money and if you are not in any trouble ,you are just wasting your money~~~ On the ohter hand, being a lawyer could earn a lot.
I also believe being a lawyer is not an easy thing, you may put yourself into jail and your clients too. It is high-risk job!!!

There are elite people like politicians,businessmen and other prominent people who have their personal lawyers whom they can trust and handle all matters that pertains to law. Ordinary people like me can also hire a lawyer for only a period of time depends on the case.

Oh, thank you so much for help me to make it clear!
No wonder some famous people I saw on TV often said: Yeah, I have a lawyer, and I have asked him before!
I belive elites like politicians, busnessmen or someone else haing a personal lawyer is necessary, because they may get into trouble sometimes .By the way, trust them is very important too.
Ordionary people don't need to have a lawyer for most of his or her lifetime if he or she is not in any trouble. It saves money too!:)

I have never had a lawyer but there has been a few times that I wish I could have had one to help me with my child support case. I am sure my outscome would have been alot better.

Oh, I thought everybody has a lawer even if he or she does not need one.
Sorry about your experience of lacking of a lawer brought you a lot of trouble.
I believe being a lawer is not a easy thing especailly you wanna be a great lawer who can really do something good to others.
Finding a lawer who can really help you and you can trust is also important too,I guess.
Hope we will have a brighter future and less cases make us unhappy.

Hello again friend, We have a lawyer, he works all the time for us, I am sure he do not have a good night sleep because any day, anytime as far as his profession is concerned we are always consulted him. Because he is my brother, lol.

Haha, your story is funny at last.I believe your brother is a hard-working man who is responsible for all of you guys. I guess being a lawer is not an easy job, it needs a lot of special abilities. Also, as you mentioned above, he does not have a good night sleep , I guess being a lawer is a tough thing, you have lots of things to worry about,your case, your clients, a lot of comlicated things...Hopefully, my major has nothing to do with law so maybe I am a little bit happy and lucky.
