I am considering buying a bread maker, and so I have been asking around for opinions on them. A few people have told me that they hardly use theirs, others say the bread is not very good, and one friend has said she loves the bread. I have heard that it is very easy and quick, but the bread needs to taste good, too. I like to make bread, but I would love to spend less time doing so. Do any of you have an opinion about bread makers, the pros and cons, and perhaps a best brand?

In my opinion the use of a bread maker or a mixer helps in getting a consistency during the kneading process. Thus we get a better texture. I used to bake my own bread, and I did notice the difference.
Hand made breads tend to taste better maybe because of the chemicals released by the body of the person making it. I remember reading about a woman who loves kneading dough because it makes her fingernails clean.
Personally I prefer using a machine to knead the dough.
