Do you prefer the Samsung Galaxy Tablet or the iPad?

I don't own any of these 2 gadgets. But I am planning of getting a Samsung Galaxt tablet. The functions and features are almost the same for me. What I like about the Samsung Galaxy is it's like having the iPhone in a bigger size. From what I read and understood the Galaxy has the phone function. It is more practical to have that than just something for browsing. It would be all-in-one for the Galaxy.
How about you? What do you think?

There are already new Samsung Galaxy Tabs and they are coming with some varieties and sizes. The 8.9 is like the newer version of the first galaxy tab and there is also the 10.1. Those numbers are their names and their corresponding screen sizes as well. Both of them don't have phone functions compared to the original galaxy tab. If you are thinking to use it as a phone then you could give it a try. You will not carry a phone and a tablet already but it is quite awkward when having calls and it is not so convenient. The first galaxy tabs uses the OS for the mobile phones which are not so much optimized for tablets. There are just few optimized apps for the first galaxy tab. If you are going to have a smartphone and a tablet with you then go with the iPad.

when you say smartphone, it has phone functions. but the iPad doesn't have the phone functions.
besides you can use the speaker phone feature (if it has, not sure about it) for the Galaxy Tab. i'm not that much with phones. it's just having one gadget with you instead of 2 or 3.

I know what you mean, and I personally do not have either an iPad or a Samsung Galaxy, but I can tell you what I did before I got a new smartphone: I did not know if to get an iPhone or a Samsung Galaxy S phone, so I did tons of research, and in the end it was pretty clear to me that the Samsung one was by far better. The biggest advantage is that Samsung has a lot of free apps in their market place, while Apple charges for almost everything.
So when it comes to phones, I am happy I went for the Samsung alternative, I have to say!

Good for you! Well Samsung has lots of freebies even with their medium end phones from their site.
This would make me save and get a Galaxy S or the Tab.

I don't have these two stuff, too. Probably I will consider to buy Samsung Galaxy because at least it is a kind of cellphone. So it has one more feature that iPad doesn't have. I am not very interested in iPad because you shall pay for many Apps. It seems it is already a trend for Apple products. It will be a high cost. And iPad is still bigger in my opinion. It is not convenient for me to bring it. I prefer to bring a mobile phone much more.
I love China

oh yes, you said Samsung Galaxy is cheaper. Actually, that's one of the factors I want Samsung, their price is worth it of the product.
i better start saving to get one.

i don't have either one, so it is hard to say, however, I do have an ipod touch which is just a smaller version of the ipad, and I have owned a Samsung Galaxy S phone, which I really liked. I suppose I would have to say the Galaxy tab, as I have done reviews on it and seems like a very nice computer if you want to call it that. I want to buy a tablet one of these days, but I have to wait until I get the money first as right now I barely have enough money to pay my bills. I guess though it really depends on what you like and which one will work the best for you. Take care, and have a very good day.

Personally I think ipad and galaxy tab are really inconvenient. I mean they are big and won't it be difficult carrying it around?? I had a choice of buying samsung galaxy tab or galaxy S, I bought the galaxy S and I really love it. It is pretty much like an iphone but I love it more =D
But yeah if I had to choose one between them, I'd choose Galaxy Tab over ipad.
