The Internet isn't owned by anyone so it is actually free. What you are paying for is access to it by your telephone company. How is the main question. Cable or satellite? Government owned telephone company or private? Each has its own reasons to be either cheaper or more expensive than other options. Then, how much taxes are added? It's a very complex question!

Not just internet bills I would say but most of the commodities too have a great variation in prices too. The fact governing this is due to the policies within the countries are all different and have their own restrictions and applied with sensing the standard of living of all. Money decide for the internet usage is the telecom sector and they are also in association with the policies and guidelines of their own. The private networks also are in association with them. Country wise the price tags change not just because there are boundaries among the countries, but as rules are varied all over the place for the best results, indeed.

The reason is obvious. Because currency rate or economical conditions of all countries is different!
Economical condition of united states of america is much more stronger than india. So currency rates of us is more than india. So not only internet charges are different but normal gadgets price also varies.
