I use Firefox almost exclusively for the last few years becsause I hate IE which I am using now because Firefox keeps freezin my computer. It's happened four times today since I've been on. I upgraded to the new version thinkin it would stop the freezing but it didn't. I hate the new version so I switched back to the old version. I found a tutorial on how to stop it from freezing and disabled some add ons and did some other things but it didn't work. Anyone have any other suggestions?

The suggestion I would have for you is to switch to Chrome. Also, I have had the same problem with Firefox and even though I am still putting up with it, IE9 has really impressed me and might be something that you want to look at as well. Hope things get better! Thanks, Zelo

Yes I'll look into it. I've been using FF for so long it's hard to change because I like it.

No search bar? That's the whole purpose of a browser is to search for stuff. How do you search besides the address bar?

You could try disabling add ons and cleaning your computer. I disabled add ons and now I am cleaning it so I hope that helps.

Hi dreamy, Exactly. The same thing I too had experienced a few days ago specially. When I started with the new version there was this or tat problem. Freezing or hanging up were most common. Then I uninstalled the new version and installed the older one and it is working quite well.

I tried it again twice and twice it froze. I'm getting sick of rebooting. I disabled add ons I don't know what else I can do.

I'm using Firefox 4. It's new so we should expect a few problems. No freezes yet but a few sites really look odd! Obviously some compatibility issues. Won't be long before we get 4.1, 4.2, 4.3 etc. Chrome just doesn't work for me, it crashes during install! I'll stick to Firefox as it is the best.

Hey, I don't use firefox and I am afraid I cannot help you with your firefox. But I hope you could change it!! Such as IE9(recently updated) opera(which I love most~~~). For me, as I am in China, we have a good one named: 360~~It is so friendly and it treats you like a family~~~ Hope you can find your solutions soon. Good luck and take care!! Have a nice day~~

I hate IE so I doubt I will be changing to that although I am using it now because until I get something else I have no choice.
