Hiya dasie,
Medication for this kind of thing is a must sometimes. This can happen to any of us although we might not think so at the time.
It can help I think when it is controlled by a Specialist and he helps you and you try your best to work with him.
There are many dedicated to getting you well again so donĀ“t think that it cannot be cured because it can.
Problem is how long does it take and the time the Medicine takes to work.
I am sure that Medication is the key to recovery in these kind of cases well and in all others too.
Dasie hope you are fully recovered by now I did not know you had been ill till I read this.
You have so much courage Dasie you have the power to get better again well I hope you are through will that now.xxx

For me I think and now and days society is to quick to give pescription medication, oh your depressed here some pills, oh your hyper here some pills. I think counseling is a great place to start if you feel that taking pills will help you than try it, but do it along with getting to what has caused you to be depressed. You can get through it.

Depression is a very common disease today. There is, as is thought, a feeling of sadness that you can get in a few minutes. It affects people regardless of race, social status or age, but is felt especially among women. Like any illness, depression requires specialized treatment. This disorder affects thinking, emotions, behavior, even physical health.
Many people experience sometimes mood swings. It is normal. These fluctuations should make us think when we feel depressed every day, more than two weeks. In summary, depression is a feeling of deep sorrow and suffering and those who suffer from it can not simply cope with the situation, go over what is bad and feel good.
Without treatment, symptoms can last weeks, months or even years.

Frankly, I resent the implication that my serious problems can be reduced to a chemical reaction in my brain. But,the reality is, these doctors don't have any idea what is really wrong with you or how to help you. Medication does affect the activity of the brain and, in turn, affects your behavior. They prescribe medication because this is the only thing they know.
Another reason I object is that these anti-depressants take so long to work that long before that, you could have already solved the problem which caused your depression.

people who are advised to be admitted on hospitals usually needs medication now than the people who just feels sad. There is now a eminent psychological disturbances that is why medications are needed to maintain balance in the neurotransmitters in the brain. if at by chance you encounter situations that are depressing it helps a lot if you are with your friends and family. I personally find relief after i pray.

For serious, real depression (not just, "Oh, I'm bummed 'cause my plans got cancelled"), medication certainly is the key. It is a serious condition and illness that cannot be controlled by the person alone.
Picture this: Your brain is like a bathtub. The faucet fills your brain with certain chemicals that keep your moods balanced. If functioning properly, the faucet will turn on and fill the amount needed as it is being drained. In some people with depression, your faucet doesn't work right. It cannot keep up with the amount being drained, therefore resulting in mood declination. When you take the correct medication, it helps to replace your faucet, and keeps the chemicals in balance.
I have dealt with depression for several years and always thought it was just me; I should be able to fix it. Sometimes we can't fix it ourselves, and you just need help. No one should be afraid or ashamed of asking [their doctor] for help or medication.

I was hospitalized for one day in 2003. After this incident, I want to stay at home. I told doctor I want to stay at home with medication. Right now, I do not have any problem with my heart feeling anymore unless if I met some nasty incidents like being fired from a job or failing for an interview. In your case, you need to be treated with medication and mix with new friends. Like what you did now is right that you post your situation to mylot. You are letting people know so they can help.
Love from all of us,

Depression is a mental health issue best consulted with a psychiatrist/psychologist for treatment which includes prescription of antidepressants or group therapy [inpatient or outpatient]. If you have chronic, it is best to ask for professional help [Psychiatry or Psychology] for proper treatment.
