Okay so just a few days ago, finally got my hand on the Dragon Box: Dragon Ball Z volume 1 DVD set and I was super excited. The I started to think, "This is the first piece of anime that I didn't buy from the 99 Cents Store!" Then I began to think "I wonder how many people there are who are like me?" I feel almost ashamed for not buying more anime at retail stores for companies like FUNImation or VIZ Media. And I just buy Anime Merchandise from Swap Meets or the fair or at conventions; never in actual stores or online stores. So really, I don't support the anime community, even though I watch Anime for free on YouTube on FUNI's Channel or Hulu. So I was just wonder, how do YOU support the Anime Community? What do you buy? Where do you but it? Hum?

Haha...that sounds like what I've been doing, getting my anime from Big Lots and the 99 Cent store when they have them. But besides that I do purchase anime at retail price from various online sites as well as Best Buys. I just don't do it as often anymore because money is a tight thing these days and I can't really afford to splurge on anime anymore. I mostly wait for the Box Sets to come out nowadays instead of getting each individual volume.

Yeah, I decided on getting the Box sets instead if I were to buy more anime DVDs. And also, I am trying to save up just enough to buy the complete set of Brigadoon because it's going cheap on Amazon.

i tend to spend my money more on manga than anime, the only thing anime related i do have are the studio ghibli collection, and numerous anime movies, i also have quite a few figurines but the best way to get people to notice anime is to talk about it, especially with the current crisis in japan, its difficult to tell if some anime and manga companies will be destroyed, but the best way to keep it alive is to talk about it, and go to conventions and stuff and show your support

I used to buy original dvds but we don't have any local branch here so the price really is not that worth it.
they only support i give to the anime community is watching their episodes.

By talking about the upcoming titles because it builds hype, anime needs to have some hype again since its currently being killed by American cartoons. Its nice to see an anime community here in mylot, 1 year ago I felt so alone... I actually buy merchandises and I did purchased original dvd's before, but I copied it in my computer and gave the cd's to my nephews and nieces since I dont want clutter in the house but I ordered original cd's from amazon.com
