I finished AB English major in language and Literature. Although I am a teaching English online with Koreans and Chinese I am still doing a self-study in English and attending workshops and seminars to upgrade my field of expertise. I believe that even after university we need not to stop learning especially in English language. English Language is a dynamic so we need to be equip always with its advancement.
You are right. Expose yourself in English videos and audios to get used with its sounds. However, don't forget that we still need teachers, or expert people on that matter.
Continue learning... happy mylotting!!!

If you want to improve your skill in english language, you must put time in it. or else it useless, because for us to be familiarize in english, we must use it frequently. Just like our first language, we did not study on it, but we are best in using it.

that's the reality, the more we use the language the more we will be familiarize to use it. Try to stay in US even for a year, and tell me if i'm wrong that when you go back, you will adopt the accent of american in speaking English. And sometimes we even forget the other language that we really know before because we use new language daily. So if you would want to be good in speaking english, try to use it every day, believe me, you be good for that even just in a month.

I am an online English teacher and I have been teaching Koreans for more than 2 years now. Its one of the ways they improve their skills cause they seldom have the opportunity to speak English during the day so hey devote 20-50 minutes of their times everyday to speak English with me.

Hello there!
English was also my second language. I learned English when I was young in Elementary school. I had to take extra classes and I was in an ESL class which required me to take double Engish Courses throughout. I'm lucky to learn English younger but now, I still struggle at times but I like to write letters, play educational games and I look up words I don't understand if I come across them :)

You are already in a place where you can improve your English, we are all conversing in English here in mylot so in a way you are already improving your English communication skills. Also try to read, I know sometimes people are lazy to read long stuff, specially a wall of text but it will do improve your communication skills. One of my hobbies is to listen to podcasts and podcasts are in English language.

i often enjoy reading dictionary whenever i get bored. and another big help with my English skills is writing. i used to write in Tagalog (way back when i was at 2nd grade, haha) but that didn't stay long. i focused more on English and i never get tired of learning more bout it.
