This year's vacation I am going to England, my home country. I have been living in the states now for the past 8 nearly 9 years, and Have yet to go back to visit family.
I now have a 6 month son and am planning on going back in a few weeks to visit my family with my mum, unfortunantly my husband can not come as he can't get time off work, nore can we afford for all 3 of us to go. And he know's that its important to me to go back and see my family as it has been soooo long and to show my family my son, as he is this little only once in his life. So back to eng;and I go...
WHere are you going for your years vacation?

I have family in England, and i remember my aunt send me an invitation letter so that i could apply for a Visa to travel to England for Christmas.
After i went to the embassy and bring every thing that they require, still i didn't get the visa to travel their.
Now it have been eight years since i did apply for that visa to visit England.I live in the Caribbean Jamaica to be exact and am heading for St Ann's in Jamaica for my Easter vacation next week will be on North coast which i know i will enjoy so much.

Sounds like a great trip! We took our two sons to Ireland with my mother-in-law when they were infants, so they could meet their remaining relatives there. It was a wonderful experience, especially since my mother-in-law has since passed away. Your son will appreciate this trip so much when he is older; even if he doesn't have "memories" of it in the traditional sense, it will help shape him and provide him with a warm foundation, and it will be a meaningful and memorable trip for you too. Have lots of fun and enjoy every minute!

Yes thats what I am hoping, that he will appreciate it. I want to take lots of photos of him with my family so he can look back in years to come and see that he did meet these people atleast once in his life.

We take frequent trips from here to the next state to see my brother and dad. Last fall we went to New Hampshire to see hubby's sisters. We go at least once a year to Minnesota to see my daughter, her husband and the granddaughters, and they come down once or twice yearly. It is not nearly enough. Go and enjoy your visit with your family, I would hate it if I could not see my family more often. We take little day trips all year long as hubby is retired, and I am only working online right now.

It will be lovely for you to visit England this year and see your family. They will be happy to meet your six month old son. Yes, flight prices for long haul destinations are high at the moment.
I took my disabled son and my daughter to Colombia in January to February this year. It was a long and expensive flight. We stayed in Cartagena De Indias and Santa Marta then did days trips from these places. I loved it at Playa Blanca and Playa De Grand.
This summer I shall be taking my kids for a week on the Yorkshire coast. We would like to visit Scarborough, Whitby, Robin Hood Bay, go on the steam railway at Pickering and go to The Deep in Hull.
I hope that you have a wonderful time in England seeing your family. It is lovely that you live in America.

It will be a few days vacation out in the nature camping. The financial situation is ruling our lives. Hopefully it will be better in the future.
It sounds wonderful for you and your family to meet. I do hope you will have a pleasant trip to England and a lovely stay.

It's really hard to travel nowadays for vacation due to economic uncertainties. But going home for a family visit is always a welcome opportunity for anyone. Wow just in time for the royal wedding huh. At least you get to visit not only to introduce your son to your family but also show your son a rich tradition from your home country. Hope you have your own royal vacation back home and enjoy it.

Thank you. This may be the only vacation for a while for us too. Its not cheap to fly back.. lol But I do hope to be able to take him back atleast every 5 years or so, more often if we can afford it.
