Besides my sister, whom i only authorized to open my yahoo mail when i was ill before, there are no one who can be able to open it, except you are a hacker. As I am log in just now, i checked on my brother's yahoo id, and he was online. So I asked him if he was my brother and I was wondrin how early he uses the internet now. Someone answered hi there. That is not how my brother responded thru some of his messages so I asked who is he/she? and he answered "oh you do not know me now?" like I do know him, well hell no. I asked why is he/she using my brother's id and how, then he/she answered it, "not until you join me in my quiz/poll" etc, something like that, which i believe this one is a hacker or spammer? And then I saw just now too that there is a ym rocketmail Id same sa my ym id. I do not remember registering for rocketmail before. I asked this monster too who she/he is and he logged out or maybe he set himself as invicible for me to stop bugging him. Is there someone who hacked both of our id's? I am worried that my yahoo mail id, which is the original one can be hacked too, is this possible?

Hi grecychunny26, with the technology today everything is possible now. I have also an experienced like what you have now. When the yahoo id of my friend get hacked and I was opened in my yahoo messenger, this freak person say hi to me because I believe that he is my friend so I replied. Then suddenly he made some story about business of card for cellphone. He told me to buy him some Smart or Globe card and he will sell it and he will give back to me the money and also the interest.
I've got suspicion that he is not really my friend because my friend and I were here in Israel and this freaki'n person always told me he need it immediately because he said he have a lot of costumers in his place in the Philippines so I told him I will call him on the phone to discuss everything. When I call to my friend he told that his account was hacked and this hacker ask for this kind of cellphone card from every one of his list in his account and sad to say, many of them are fooled by this hacker.
So what I can say to you is just change your password every two months or 3 months, it will be depend on you so you will be more protected in the internet.

thanks for sharing your story Drax. (I call you Drax na lang ha ). So i have to advice my brother too, to change his password. He do not use that yahoo id no more as I texted him a while ago. I think he should warm his classmates because many of the poor teenagers might be fooled by this hacker. I wonder if I can report this on yahoo. I believe they should do something about this.

Hi again grecy, if someone already used his account in yahoo, for sure he change already the password and for your bro, it will be impossible already to recover those account unless he can remember the 2 secret question that he answer when he sign up with yahoo. Your right that it is good to warn very one in his account list so that no one can be fooled of this hacker.
Reporting to yahoo? Don't really know if they will response if your the only one to complain, I think they will need to gather first 2 or 3 or thousands complain for one account before they act. But just give a try, why not? Maybe they will do something.

It seems that someone has certainly hacked your brother's account and has also created a Rocketmail account with your Yahoo user ID. Ymail and Rocketmail, however, are separate as far as usernames go, so I don't think that your Yahoo ID is in danger (they would need to have your Yahoo password to access your Ymail account).
To be absolutely safe, however, I would advise that you change your Yahoo password. Make it 8 characters at least and include upper case, lower case and numerals (and possibly some symbols).
It is inconvenient and annoying when somebody uses the same ID as you on another network/email address but there is little you can do about it, unfortunately.

I will do that Owlwing.Thank God that my Yahoo Id is not in danger. Some of my friends says that maybe i have the same name and surname as the other people, but how could this person did not respond on my question if we only have the same name. I believe that person using it is a hacker and he/she intentionally do it.

Well, is it possible that your brother's account is being used by his friend, and he's the one whom authorized it? MAybe it's one of your ex bf whom had access to your mails or his mails? IF it's a no to the above 2, i guess his account might have been hacked. AS for your case, it might be a concidence because it's common to see same username for different kind of mail, especially when they are many providers around
