Is it truly their identity, or is it an identity that a conservative, controlling man has forced on them?
Many women wearing garments like the hijab and chador, or maybe no overtly "Islamic dress" at all, are following Islam without a problem in Western countries - if the burqa was mandatory, surely every Muslim woman would wear it, but they don't.
In the UK, you've even had MUSLIM shop owners protesting against the burqa, because a common trick is for a man to dress in one, and proceed to hold up or steal from the shop, with the burqa making identification impossible.
As for "please let them follow Islam" - how about resolving issues like letting non-Muslims build places of worship in Saudi Arabia, or how religious minorities are treated in places like Pakistan, before you attack Western treatment of Islam. Many Muslims have religious freedoms in Western countries that non-Muslims don't receive in Muslim countries.
