What makes a photographer professional is the results, not the camera. The camera is a factor in producing professional results, but it is far less important than having the right attitude, confidence, knowledge, ability and experience that you put in behind the camera.

Hi heart4u,
I really do love to own a dslr camera because I love taking pictures, I am actually planning to buy one before or after Christmas this year. Like you, I love to travel and be in different places and having a good camera will surely make my travelling experience more fun and memorable. As we all know dslr's can capture scenery in HD, which means that it will bring more life to the image/photo that I will take. It is funny that is somewhat becoming a fad and some claimed (I think it was a group in FB) that other people (newbie) who bought slr think that they were already a professionals in that field which made some of them annoyed or angry. As for me, it doesn't matter what other would say, as long as I enjoy having it and it makes me happy then none of those crappy comments will matter. Plus, I have a blog that I maintain and it will definitely help my image presentation to be more captivating.
Happy Lotting!

iI really love to have a DSLR. But of course iuldn't afford one. if I buy one, I make sure I can get some money from it. I like DSLR quality. The picture just great if we know how to use them.
For me, those who buy DSLR but don't have the ideea how to take good picture with it is just people following fad. People buy DSLR they also buy DSLR because they don't want to get left behind without really care about how to use it.
Why on earth buy a DSLR but in the end we can only capture a photo like a cheaper point and shoot camera. Just waste of time. Buy something if we really know and want to use it.

I really want a DSLR for myself, but my aunt has one. She uses the DSLR because her hobby is to take photographs, mostly nature. Taking photos is one of her passion. She is the photographer when she comes back her to our place. It mst be a fashion fad for some others but for me, it's something that you have in order to take pictures of what you want.

i initially bought an entry level dslr because i wanted to learn photography. but as it turned out it's a very expensive hobby and i have not found the time and resources to take it up yet. :)

in my case, it's because I like taking macro, nature and landscape pictures.
and while I've taken some amazing pictures on compact cameras, there have been many occasions where I've wanted a different part of the image in focus, or more or less depth of field, or more or less exposure.
and way back in the days of film, I did a GCSE in photography, and used an SLR, which gave me a lot more creative freedom.
so when I had a very good work bonus, I treated myself to a DSLR, and I absolutely adore it.

I am an amateur photographer since year 2005, so that mean more than 5 years now. I start with very very low quality digital camera. But with imagination and creativity I make good photos. I post some my photos on internet and I recieve good comments. Now I have DSLR camera, but the style of taking photos stay the same. The only difference is that now photos are better quality.
So that is sure: Good camera doesn`t make good photographer!

dslr makes better photos. I was hesitant at first because it was heavier and bulkier than my regular point-and-shoot. I tried the dslr and saw that the photos came out so good that I will never be satisfied with a regular digicam. My family loves to travel and the dslr gives more vivid images of our trips.

Hi heart,
One inherent advantage of digicams is having to do away with films to load, unload and print. Just point, shoot and share right away, shots can be done again and again without wasting the film and the quality can be improved digitally.
So why there are still people who go for a film camera? To date no digicam can still match the 25MP resolution a film can get. For most of us, a compact point and shoot may do for everyday picture shooting.

i love photography, DSLR is not for display or for fashion purposes, its a camera that should be used to produce a better quality of pictures. Maybe some buy DSLR just for the sake that they want to have one to look more professional and for displaying or maybe they want to fit-in and blend in to the community.

I'm addicted to pictures :) and i am more satisfied with the outcome of my pictures if i'm using dlsr. it has some features that a digital camera lacks.
