will you sing rain rain go away?

Oh Njamoroso! I love your post! There´s been so long that I don´t play in the rain, the last time I remember I did it was in Paris, 20 years ago, then I went to the university, I worked in companies, I got married, and had children. Now my children ask me to play on the rain and I don´t allow them. And this city is very dry, in rains just some few times during the year, and I am very affraid that the children catch a cold. Because it is usually very hot, and the cold of the rain could make them catch a cold, or have a soar throat. Thanks you for remembering how nice is the rain. I used to live in a very wet placed, and there used to rain more often. I used to play on the rain when I was a little girl. Thanks you for remembering all this. I´ll promise, that if it rains, I´ll allow my kids to play on the rain. Do you have kids that could catch a cold? Hehe. Blessings!... Dainy

Bringing back old memories eh! When I was a kid my mom would allow me and my older siblings to play under the rain and she would give us shampoo and soap too. Hahaha that saved her water bill. We would frolic in a puddle of water and would run and just enjoy the cool water. However there were times when we wouldn't want it to rain especially if we had a schedule to go to the beach and swim.

How I wish rain could still be as delightful to me as it used to be. While rain refreshes the surrounding and gives cool atmosphere, there is something about the rain that I dread nowadays. It is the flood that goes with it once the rain becomes harder.

haha i miss being a kid too and playing with my friends in the rain. i still sing rain rain go away sometimes but i am teaching it to my baby daughter.

i used to sing that too when i was a kid and i wanted to go out and play. I did not want to play in the rain often because I feel dirty and I dont want to be sick. Right now i dont sing that song anymore. Maybe because i am already a grown up or because I love the rain since it makes me sleep more soundly :)

haha! how i wish i can still ran and play while it rains :) i really missed my childhood days :D

I haven't sang this in a while, not sure how long. I do like the rain now except for when it prevents me from doing something I want to do. I think that most kids didn't like the rain because their parents would not let them go out and play or it prevented them from going to places like the pool etc. I remember when I was young my mom wouldn't let me go outside but every once in awhile when it rained but I had a friend younger then me that was always outside when it was raining. She was the only one outside amongst us all.

But gone were the days. I also missed childhood years. This time, I don't sing the song anymore, but I love it when it rains because I'm pretty sure, my plants will be merry and gay. Happy mylotting!

I taught that song to my daughter when we lived in Pakistan. Mainly, because rain comes so rarely there and it is a excuse to celebrate and have fun. But now we live in Greece and rain is just cold and wet! All the fun has gone.

This discussion reminds me of my childhood days and my first year high school. Sigh. Those were really the days and how I wish I could go back. The last time I sang rain rain go away was in high school with my friends because it kept raining cats and dogs that time. We felt all childish but at least we enjoyed it. We even ran in the fields that time. And the last time we soaked in the rain was the time we had practice and it's a rain or shine practice situation. It was really fun!

i sing that song with my 3 year old daughter all the time when it rains, its funny because after awhile of singing it it stops raining, its kinda funny
