I have problems sleeping sometimes because my husband snores very loud and tosses and turns and it is just like he can't get comfortable and it bothers me to where I can not sleep and he gets so mad at me and says Am I bothering you I can leave to somewhere to another room but I just say no your not bothering me but really it does, I just don't want to say anything, I am the kind of person that once I am asleep I have to have the television and lights off and complete silence and no one moving around. It has to be still, are you this way?

It is hard sometimes I know the feeling I just want to go sleep on the couch in the other room but then I get lonely. And end up right back in the room with him!

Hi there, The sleeping nature of yours is very much similar to that of mine. No direct light, no sounds, and no tension of getting early. During winter season it was good. I had my own quilt and would sleep totally undisturbed. But as the summer days are approaching I feel bit of uncomfortable because my son sleeps with me and he is a restless kid. He tosses, turns and lifts his leg on my back. So far snoring I would do a lot as told by my wife but it is almost 9 months now I hardly snore. And the good thing is that my wife does not get annoyed with sounds and our son's turning and turning. lol

I guess it depends on how tired I am. I am used to many noises constantly so sometimes the television actually helps to drown out all the other noises that might have interfered with my sleep.

I can relate to your discomfort. I have been in a relationship with someone that has sleep apnea and I don't wish it on anyone. I can fall asleep with the tv on or certainly without complete silence -- but sometimes I think that's just because I'm overtired much of the time. Some days I could fall asleep sitting up if I stay still long enough LOL I'm curious whether or not your husband has mentioned to his doctor about the loud snoring and the tossing and turning that he does? Snoring is a perfectly normal thing for so many people but, when it's accompanied by other sleep disturbances (like periods of quiet followed by a sudden "snorting," constant moving around, etc.), it's good to just check up on it. Your husband may not be getting as much sleep as it seems and you know for sure that you aren't. No one wants to sleep separate to their spouse/partner but, sometimes, it's the only way to actually reach deep and restful sleep.

Yes, it could all be related. There is evidently a correlation between sleep apnea and people grinding their teeth during sleep (the grinding part is called bruxism). People that suffer from sleep apnea have many sleeping and waking periods over the course of a single night (not waking like "getting up and walking around" or anything - just disturbances in their sleep pattern). During the times that the apnea disturbs them or wakes them, they can do many things - snorting, as I mentioned, or sometimes it's more like a gasping sound, they can mumble or grind their teeth. If your husband has been grinding his teeth in his sleep, no doubt it can eventually (or already does) give him pain. I despise going to the dentist more than a lot of people but I really think he should consult with someone - if it's not the dentist, start with your general practitioner... basically, a professional that can assess him and get him on some kind of path to better sleep. You might want to read up on bruxism, especially if he is grinding his teeth consistently at night and loud enough for you to hear it (AND drive you crazy, I'm sure!). I just picked one article for you as an example but there's lots of information to be had: http://www.talkaboutsleep.com/sleep-disorders/archives/parasomnias_bruxism.htm I'm thinking of you and wishing you both luck with this... I had WAY too many sleepless nights, and so did my daughters, and I know how frustrating it is. It doesn't only affect the nights but highly impacts the daytime, too

I think he is stressed and has been for a while and he has pain in his teeth a few of them and every time he makes an appointment he cancels it and he needs to go soon, I can't stand the grinding of his teeth and him trying to pull the teeth out his self, and I don't like to see anyone in pain I wish he would quit f...g whinning and just go!!! Maybe that is part of the problem? Do you think that could be some of it?

hi jahrernandezrivas get your husband to a doctor as it so unds just like sleep apnea and it can be helped. He ends up not getting enough oxygen so the snoreing gets even louder, He can be helped with a cpape machine that helps him get enough oxygen and stops the snoring but the must be checked out by your doctor first.I am like you I have to have silence and lights out no music no noise.

I am that kind of person that no matter how loud the television is or if the lights are on, I can sleep soundly and actually i like it better that way than the dark. But I have this guy friend, he doesn't snore usually but sometimes when we have party in some friends house and we sleep over, he sometimes snores. It's really loud and annoying. Keeps everyone awake except him. I just kick him sometimes coz I wanna sleep too lol.
