Spring is said to be here. :) With summer right around the corner do you have any special plans? My family and I haven't decided yet what all we want to do. I know it will be a busy summer but I hope we can schedule some type of weekend get away. This past year we haven't been able to do much with things being so tight financially, but I hope we can set aside a little for a getaway.

Hello Dominique,
I do hope you can getaway if even for a couple days. If you can't plan a few outings things like - all day picnics to the beach, with sandwiches, colas and fruits. I have often enjoyed days like that and outside of a few special treats it does not cost anything really. Relaxing in the sun, water and spending time with family is so precious for me.
I do plan to get away again this summer to Arkansas where my boyfriends mom lives. She lives up in the mountains where we don't pay anything for swimming, row boating, hiking and scuba diving. We just need to pay for the gas to and from which is 14 hour drive. The time spent with family during cook outs has been so priceless, that I look forward to it each and every summer.
We too have had a rough year so wish us luck friend that we can continue our yearly trip. I wish you the best summer ever.

So did you get to go to Arkansas? If so did you have a good time? We weren't able to go and stay away anywhere, but we did have a good summer. Doing things like you mentioned like spending time with family and friends having cook outs. Summer always flys by. It's amazing how fast time goes.

Oh yes we did go to Arkansas and although it was a difficult trip. Our car broke down only five hours into the trip and the weather was 112 degrees Fahrenheit. It was very difficult to be outdoors as it was very hard to breath, in fact we came home a week earlier then anticipated as it was 101 degrees at 10 pm at night.
But all in all it was wonderful to be with the family and all the gatherings. I am glad you do get to spend quality time with your family. That is wonderful as yes you are right once the years fly on by we cannot get them back.

I'm glad that you were able to go. Oh my goodness that is too hot for me. It would diffinitely be hard to breathe. It's good though that you and your family were able to make the trip there and spent time with in laws.

My plan for the summer this year is going to visit my family, planning to stay there for about 3 months since I haven't seen my family for quite a while. I like the summer and I'm sure I will have fun with them and my new baby, it will be his first summer, can't wait to take him out and let me feel the nature.

I hope that you were able to enjoy your school with your family. I hope that your son is enjoying all his new experiences as well. It's amazing how much they learn and catch on to.

Did you and your daughters get to have a weekend away together? I hope so I think it's good for parents and kids to have such times together. I enjoy summer so much, not a big fan of winter.

I don't have any special plans yet. This semester would be one of the first semesters in a long time that I did not go to school in college over the summer. This summer I plan to work, hang out with friends, work, maybe go out of the state and work some more. I wish we had a big tip planned for the summer, but so far nothing, and i'm ok with just going to work and hanging out for the summer. Best time for me to relax and stop worrying about school.

I hope that you were able to enjoy that time not going to school during the summer. It would be difficult to go to school pretty much all year around. It's good to have a little break.

This summer I'll have a special plan,it's very different from all the past summers.
I'll be busy with my small orange orchard because the orange trees are in blossom now,and when the trees have born fruits, there are so much work for me to do to take good care of them in the coming summer,or I won't have a guarantee of a good harvest this fall.

I hope that you were able to get everything done that was required with your orange orchard. I can imagine how much work it takes to keep everything up. Hope that your harvest turned out well.

I hope that you enjoyed your summer and that you were able to do the things you enjoy. When the weather is nice it makes us want to go out and enjoy ourselves. I'm looking forward to next year.

Yea, work & work &....um work.
I keep hearing people talk about something called a vacation where they actually don't have to work & they go places. Sounds an awful lot like fired & evicted to me. Maybe if I could try out one of these V.A.C.A.T.I.O.N things I'd know what they were talking about.

LOL that is funny. I completely understand what you are saying. I know friends who take cruises at least once a year or travel to some great place. I know how they are able to do it but I'm like I don't know how they are doing it. I can hardly keep up with everything, and try to save for a night or two away. And that is not even talking about driving over 50 miles away, not even close to flying anywhere, or taking a boat. We didn't get to go away for a weekend that figures because somethings always coming up :). Like car repairs it gets us every time. Hopefully some day you can take a night or two away. I can't afford to go away for a week that seems like an eternity and awhole lot of money too.

So how did your trip to your friends and daughters go in July? Did you have a good time? We weren't able to get away for a weekend but we still had a good summer. We spent a lot of time with the family and we had cookouts.

Yes, you said it right. Spring is said to be here. But , it didn't come alone. It brought along it's best friend "Winter" ! All snow and freezing temperatures. So, we are waiting for the summer to come. That would be nicer and more enjoyable. Even if we have to be staying at home, that would be nicer the winter and spring !

I hope that you were able to do things that you enjoyed during that time. Life is so much better when we are able to have a little time for ourselves. Time to do things that we like and that brings us enjoyment.

We aren't doing anything real spectacular like my parents are but we are going to go to camp almost every weekend that is near to our home. His parents own the camp and it is just a nice getaway that isn't too far away so we can run home if we need anything. It is just a nice time that we get to have twice a month and just forget about everything for awhile. My parents on the other hand have planned a trip to Disney for my younger sisters. They invited us to go, but we just aren't financially able to this year. But I think that our times at camp will be just as fun because the girls get to play in the creek, and ride bikes. Us adults get to converse around the fire and play cards and what not. So I t hink that this summer is going to be really fun, since I do not have to work this summer and will get to enjoy myself without having to worry about working every weekend.

Did you get to enjoy camping like you were planning? That is great that you guys are able to have a little getaway spot close to home. That is awesome that your parents are taking your sisters to disney. It is expensive so I can understand not being financially able to go. My husband says we will never go to disneyland, lol.

I do have a lot of plan this summer but unfortunately I also have a work and dont even have a vacation to do all my plan. I want to go to beach to relax myself, i also want to go to the most beautiful park with my little girl but I think I wont even have a spare time for it. i guess that's the hardest thing of being a single parent, that you must work on your own to provide all the needs of your baby.

Did you get to go to the beach and park this past summer? I hope that you were able to do those things. When we work a lot it requires that we take a little time out for ourselves. I can imagine how hard it is to be a single parent. All the responsibilities way on you. Keep up the hard work, your daughter will appreciate and love you for it.

I have not made any special plans for this summer yet. With the horrid winter passing and warmer weather on the weather, i can be sure that whatever i do I will enjoy the summer!

I agree with you I'm always happy when winter is over. I greatly enjoy it when it starts to get warmer outside. I'm not a fan of the cold. I hope that you enjoyed your summer.

I envy all of you here. You all have plans to getaway. As for me, our work did not allow us to have a vacation leave We even have a lot of overtime schedules so this means work and work and work for me. I truly hope we will be able to getaway soo. Fingers crossed :)

Unfortunately we weren't able to getaway as we planned. Unexpected expenses always seem to come up :). I hope that you have made plans to getaway sometime soon. We all need a little break from the everyday affairs of our life.

Actually, in my country is fall, and the winter is close. But as how this year promises being good, I am already planning for the next summer. Hope I can go with my mom and my sister to a beach for a month or so. Also, I'm planning to meet my friends again, I've been far away from them the past year, so now, I would like to hanging out with them, grab a coffee, go to some pub, some mall, or just walk, etc.
Yeah, I have some things planned, hope I can do them.

I hope that you were able to do the things that you had planned. I know for me it seems like when I try to plan something unexpected expenses come up. But I have enjoyed doing things with friends and family that are expensive like you mentioned getting a coffee, or a bit to eat together and just talking.
