I wanted to apply, but...

A friend referred to me a website where I can write as a freelance writer and get paid by writing essays and articles. It's like you'll be a blog or a mag's "ghost writer". I wanted to apply very much since I am in "dire" need of money. I've been writing in Triond for some time now, and been writing other papers for a lawyer, but I know this stuff my friend referred to me is somewhat different from what I used to do. And, I was more comfortable in writing than speaking. I felt like I express myself more when I write (or type!)than in speaking.
I really wanted to apply, HOWEVER I am kinda scared. Moreover, there's something in the back of my head discouraging me not to because "I think I am not good enough". I am not a professional writer. I am a master of none. I'm a nobody with a low self-esteem and a boring chick --- why the hell would they hire me?
Anyway, this post LOOKS like a rant, but I want to hear something from you.

Hello, MsPatricia. I don't think you have anything to worry about. Your style flows nicely, and if you've been writing stuff for a lawyer, I'm sure they were very picky about how you expressed yourself, so it sounds as if you're up to the challenge. Remember nobody knows what they are really capable of until they try, and so-called professional writers are not born that way - it's a skill they develop over time.

Well, that something in the back of your mind is not real, just ignore it. You should apply and get some money out of it. Why not make money doing something you love? You already have experience, so that's a plus right there. Just remember to stay positive when applying. With positivity comes the results that you wanted, a positive result. Don't let the voice taunting get the best of you.

(And) I do not know where the voice in the back of my head came from. I feel I suck when those thoughts come in. Thanks for all the encouragement. I'll do my best to ignore the negative thoughts.

I say try it. I never thought that I would do well with writing online, but so far I have done okay writing for triond and Associated Content. I do not get rich but I make a little money doing it. I enjoy it and that is all that matters isn't it?

Hmmm! Self confidence issue! Well Pat, how will you know if you are good enough if you are not going to try? It's not like they will ridicule you if they find your writing skills lacking. Get the job and use it to know just how good you are! Nothing to lose and everything to gain. By the way, I'm also interested, can you tell me what the website is? lol

Just go ahead and give it a try. You don't lose anything anyway. Sometimes it is that fear that stops us from achieving real success. Go for it and if you don't make the cut, so what? You still have your other sources of income. One rejection or maybe many rejections should not be a good reason for you to act like a loser. Come on, test yourself.

If you are worried at something that does not need you to spend, then you are wrong. Something free is worth trial. If it requires money and you are not sure about it then don't try as you may loose and yet you said you need more money. Just find out more about it.
