When people worry about what they say on facebook

Hear me out on this, I know that common sense today is to have the bosses in mind. But I wonder if people are too caught up in the hierarchy.. I say this because people are so afraid to speak their mind on facebook and twitter. It's funny because in daily life, they don't care if anyone hear's them say something really foolish, but when it comes to facebook, then they act like they are innocent and genuine. On facebook is where people judge you, not in real life. So you can be as much of an idiot in your regular activities as long as you act like someone else on facebook. If you say something stupid on facebook, you'll get fired, but if you say something stupid in the comfort of your friends, you are fine. I think it's all ridiculous.

There was a big issue today of twice people taking what I wrote and twisting it all around and spreading it as gossip that was totally incorrect to what I had said. I complained about it and someone wrote that I shouldnt write about everything in my life on there because thats how people are they will twist the truth. Well if I have to not write what I want then there is no point being on there. I could write that I tripped on a log and someone would turn around and say that I sued someone because of it or something stupid like that. So if no matter what I write people are going to run their mouths and say things that I didnt say I might as well just say what I want anyway because it doesnt matter what I write they will do it anyway.

I hate when they do that! It's so senseless. I like the way you think though.. I don't want to be silenced just out of fear of being misunderstood.

I don't really like face book because I just never have to tell you the truth I would much rather spend my time here, Face book has all the nasty comments and some nasty pictures of people that some people would prefer not to even look at and no privacy and the whole world is talking about nasty things don't care to know about either.I am on Face book but as soon as I learn how to delete myself from that place it will be done!!

Hi sashakiddo: I know what you mean and this is probably because people get too much attention on facebook so they are more worried about their message but also their pictures. They want to feel that they are interesting and that they are funny etc. It's all about self esteem too. ALVARO

Mine is different though, it's the opposite of what you've posted. True enough, there are some people who are really all outgoing and noisy in life, but when it comes to Facebook, they're not all noisy. Maybe there's a reason behind it, example, they're too busy dating or partying and so on. There are introvert people though, they are innocent in real life, but when it comes to virtual reality, they become so active and noisy. That is how it goes for me. But thanks for sharing!

It is ridiculous. A person should be themselves no matter what or where they are. You would think, if you were going to put on a fake persona it would be to people you see on a regular basis. I only say this because, you may not want to deal with the daily reprecussions of the bad interaction. But facebook, get real, alot of these so called friend you don't even see ever day. People should be honest regardless of the outcome. Best Wishes!

Yes, when they aren't honest they are revealing their weakness and phoniness to the people who know them. I really admire people who hold their ground in any situation, people who see everyone as equal.

Perhaps it's because facebook broadcasts everything that you do put on it to all of your friends and your network? It reaches out to more people therefore it has greater impact on your image as a person. Do something stupid in the comfort of your friends (a couple and not all) and there's a big possibility that no matter how big of an idiot you seem to them, they will just keep it within themselves. You can act like a fool for all you want as long as you do it in front of people who would either understand you for what you are and for being you during the bad unguarded days; or do it in front of people who wouldn't bother to take much of their time to tell everyone how stupid you have become.

that's just the thing that is strange to me. If anyone is going to do something stupid in front of their friends, they should have the guts to do it publically. People are just so secure with their friends and yet they are so afraid of the rest of the world.

I heard that a lot. i guess facebook is just some social networking that everyone can see what you wrote... i mean the world see what u say there... I guess, if u are on facebook... better not to add too many of ur co workers or ur boss...

I"d have to go the other way...they say what they want on facebook but afraid to say it in real life. Typing it is easier than speaking it and on facebook...they don't have to respond to the comments if they don't want to, but if they speak it..they have to listen to the comments. It is also easier to "talk back" if you are not face to face. You can also delete what you say on facebook, but once said out loud...no take-backs!

Personalities differ in their objectives of opinions I think we all do.
