That's a great way to help deal with the loneliness i wonder if it will work for other people!
I also love to clean to music and i have been cleaning for work atm so i think its great when i can put on some fast paced music that really lifts my mood and performance. I think that speed and endurance is hugely benefitted by music depending on your tastes and the style of music you choose.

I always get good grades and do my homework with TV, music and computer turned on!
Really, it depends on how proficient you are when you listen to music: it can make no difference, it can speed you up or slow you down. Personally, I'm much faster at solving math problems when I listen to music; on the other hand, many friends of mine say they can't even think if there isn't silence all around them.
So, there's not a "rule" concerning music and homework; everyone should just do what comes more natural to him/her. And - at least in my case - no, music doesn't affect grades.

I have always found music to be a great way to relax and unwind. I think depending on the study that it couldn't really effect your grades as long as it isn't up so loud that you can't focus on your work while it's playing. I guess your grades would speak for themselves? Are you doing well in your studyies or do you think that the extra focus could benefit you? There is no point studying if your not able to retain the information it wasn't worth learning.

Hi. vickirod. Welcome to myLot! I know that from some people, music helps them to concentrate fully on getting their homework done. It gives them a great and swift motivational feeling of getting their homework done so much more faster. As for me, I don't really enjoy listening to any kind of music while I am doing my homework at all. It is a distraction and music makes it difficult for me to study and concentrate on my homework.

It all depends on the person. Personally, I think it helps tremendously with some. I think it can even help you on a subconscious level: Say you are listening to a song you like, while memorizing a bunch of terms for a quiz- I bet if you were to put that same song on 'in your head', while you wrote the quiz, you would probably remember a bunch of those terms you were studying; because, you associated the music with the terms and what not...

well, different people tend to have different approaches in studying. some do find it easier and more fun to study when listening to music or something, some find it a little distracting. i think i'm more of a little bit of the two. it really depends on my mood. i sometimes do find it relaxing and i become more motivated and energetic when listening to my favorite songs. but at times, i tend to lose focus as i listen to them.
on the matter of listening to music affecting your grades, i don't think it's listening to music that acts as the determinant of whether you'll have high or low grades, but rather how you manage to cope up with your environment and adjust accordingly so that your priority in life at the moment, which is achieving good grades through doing well with your homework, etc., always comes first and is in constant progression. you may call this paragraph, 'blah', anyways. just an opinion.

I would always listen to music while doing homework. It helps me concentrate. I would be harder to focus without music because then I would get bored.
