Baby food had mold in it!!

That means it was not sealed well or was in fact opened at the store. I have used Gerber for many years (4 kids) and I have to say that has never happened. I do know that if you complain to the company they will gladly take care of you. I did have a box of their cereal that had meal worms in it when we opened it. It happens sometimes unfortunately. They where very good about it and sent me my money back as well as coupons for free food.

Wow how frightening. I see you called the store and they did not take you serious with the complaint. Not sure if you still have it but here is what I would do; I would seal it and plastic wrap it in the refrigerator, find the company online and find a contact number or email for the corporate office. I would place a complaint and have them take a look because there is no telling if this one is isolated case or there are several others out there that perhaps will affect other babies. I am sure the company would be interested in knowing that although the baby food expiration date is not expired something is not right. It may be that this is an isolated case but because we are speaking about your child I would switch baby food brands.
