If you are so willing to pay more in taxes, why didn't you?

I know students need the money but think--that 2,000 is coming from my pocket, from your working friends' pockets, from your parents. It's not free money, the government has no money and earns no money. Every single function of government is paid for by taxpayer money. So nothing is a gift, nothing is free, it's all off the backs of the working people. Please don't ever vote for someone again just because they can give you free stuff. That's a ticket to ruin and we're well on the way. You're young but you'll eventually learn that politicians make a lot of promises but rarely keep them. They just want to get elected and will say anything to do so. They think we are stupid--unfortunately, a lot of us are not stupid but just inexperienced and gullible.

I think that was one of his first promises officially broken on politifact. Either way, nobody "owes" you that 2,000 dollars. If you want that 2,000, get a job and earn it. If you can't save that much money, fill out a FAFSA and take out a student loan. This is what happens when you let politicians buy votes. It creates a sense of entitlement like you're showing right now. YOU are not entitled to MY taxpayer dollars.

Because he's your run of the mill "Do as I say not as I do" hypocritical politician. He's just like Al Gore and other democrats who pretend they care about the poor, but are only willing to give OTHER people's money to help them. He wants to raise taxes, but will still pay as little as he possibly can digging up every deduction possible. The only thing he succeeded in was creating an even bigger sense of entitlement in this country as evidenced by the first person to respond.

Obama is a hypocritical lair because he did not go out of his to pay higher taxes when he didn't have to but now that he wants to raise taxes to pay for all the unfunded spending that happened over the past ten years. Interesting logic, so everyone who supports something when they come to power should have done the championed the same activity while they were a citizen, is that what you are getting at? So what about chicken-hawks, you know those individuals who did everything they could to avoid going to war but when they came to power they did everything possible to get the nation into war?

Gewcew, Obama said himself that he is willing to pay more in taxes, yet every time he pays taxes, he has the opportunity to wave his right to deductions. He also has the right to pay as much in taxes as he chooses. There are no laws limiting what a person can pay. So if he says he's willing to pay more in taxes, why doesn't he?

So basically, if we agree that Clinton is a hypocrite for doing everything he could to dodge the draft and then going to war in Bosnia after congress almost unanimously voted against it, then you'll agree that Obama is a hypocrite for saying the rich need to pay higher taxes while going out of his way to pay less. Am I right? Complaints about the unfunded spending during the Bush administration are only valid until you push for trillions in unfunded spending on top of that.
