What are the reason why you love philippines??(for Filipino Myloters) Our beloved country, what's really happening to our place? Many of us trying go abroad, and leave here true home. Why it that so? How about our government? What are their moves so that our competitive Filipinos don't need to go outside the country to earn money? Really I am dismay to what is happening, our OFW's adventuring their luck because they fell that they had no future if the stay here in philippines. Do you agree in that????

I love the Philippines because there is obvious corruption, abuse of power, multiple storms every year, street food that is smoked flavored by the smoke belching vehicles, mosquitoes, mango, cheap stuff, cost of living is low, sari-sari stores, local market, taho vendors, etc.
Leave home? hmmm that is most likely because the income back there is low that it is not sufficient enough to get through the low cost of living and other expenses and education.
No future? Well, if you look back at the Philippine history when it was still rich economically back a few decades ago when this country was among the top in Asia and compare it to the following decades, it never went back up again significant enough that our people could feel it. It is obvious that our country is not at it's best. Asking it's future depends on its actions and situations.
Within a few decades we may see the Philippines being taken over by other countries that it owes money from.

Tnx for the positive thoughts about my country, Raheela. Our new government is seeing to it that our infrastructures are rehabilitated. The beautification of Metro Manila, the primary destination in the Philippines, is underway. The scenic spots are also being given provisions so that tourists won't have difficulties during their visits.
Come visit soon! The Philippines is at its best Maytime. The hot springs are good for dipping and the fiestas are lavish!

There is no other place like this.
Stores,Clubs,Bars are still open at 3am onwards. Fruits are much better since we are a tropical country, the cost of living is cheap, there's "tingi tingi" here, the places are good just choose, GO and have fun, no curfews, you can hang out anywhere, you can do almost EVERYTHING here. ^__^
corruption cannot be avoided, that's given. we must accept the fact that we live in such government. many people leave the country because they expect life would be much easier outside, incomes are good, awesome job/work and everything because the salary here is not that much, and most of Pilipinos think that GOOD work = GOOD salary.
There are lots of choices, good future is not always outside the country, "Stereo Type kasi tayo".
Hehehe!! :)

I love Philippines not just because it is my country but it is where i learned a lot of things, there are might be some other countries who far better than Philippines but Philippines for me is the best.
Before, I was planning to go to other country and live there and work however I realize that other country is different. Here in Philippines I have my family. I will be missing them a lot aside from that I can have my work here in Philippines better than in the other country. It is true that other countries has good economic situation there a re job opportunities there but thinking of it we can have a good job here too if we will be more wise and work more aside from that if we don't have what they called crab mentality.
Philippines also got the best places for vacation it's all about to us to explore
In here I am happy in our country, the best so filipino mylotters i hope before you go out to work in other countries please explore first about philippines.

I love what you said. For us Filipinos we must first try our luck here before going somewhere else, and try to look the beauty of out country, because our country had a lot to offer to us maybe not much on high salary jobs but more on being safe in the comfort of our fellow Filipinos.

The Philippines loves us too. As a matter of fact, it has even nurtured us since our time of being. I think the only way that we can give back to her is to try serving her even for a little while. People find the need to go abroad because they want to earn money. Sadly, here in the Philippines there are not that many job opportunities. Of course, once we go to other countries, we can always go back someday and maybe when we retire, we can try and help the people.

what you are saying really is the sad truth about our country, the luck of opportunity for our skilled workers. And it is not our advantage, its a loss to us,because instead of working here, and try to help grow our economy they are force to go abroad for a better offer.

i love phillipines for the reason that i grew up here and i observe that we have a personality that is TLC (tender love and CARE), we also take good care of our family, there are nice tourist spot , and the great is CLOSENESS TO EACH FAMILY MEMBER , maybe our goverment is corrupt as what they say For me i think there is a future in the phillipines as long as u invest ur money in a nice and good work and make some effort to make things right beacause some OFW go to abroad and there families stayed here what happend is either both of them has a 2nd partner.

That's really hurt, If you had to sacrifice and work abroad and when you go back, your husband/wife has betrayed you. That's really true sometimes, I had a friends and it's was happened to him. He leave his wife and his child to work abroad, and after 3 years of sacrifice of working, he arrive home. And sad to say, he was shook to know that his wife was pregnant to other man. Is it really so depressing. If i'm in the place of my friend maybe a could kill someone, for sure. Life really annoying sometimes, that why we really need to improve the opportunity here in our country, because sometime leaving our homes to find more opportunity is not the good decision.

spockers, I think the government is giving enough assistance to our new graduates, so that they won't have to seek jobs in foreign lands. If you look around, an aesthetic revolution is taking place. Even ordinary neighborhoods are landscaping their mini gardens. If only every Filipino stop criticizing and begin doing something helpful, we could have achieved so much already.

Hello there. :)
Yes, it is true, many Filipinos are risking everything just to go abroad, have a job, gain dollars, and hope to give their families and themselves a better life.
And yes, they do this because of course, their salaries here are not enough for them to survive, which is true.
And because of these, I am more proud to say that I am a Filipino and I still love my country even more because of these.
This just shows that we Filipinos are willing to risk everything, and become a hero for doing this.
Hero, because leaving your home country is a very teary and hard thing to do but still, you're gonna do that not just for money! but for the sake of that love and responsibility for your family. Isn't that heroic?
And yes, I am not sad that OFW's are doing this because it is really reasonable.
Global crisis is really greater and more visible now so we can't blame them.
Let's just pray for their safety and for our government to at least become a better one.

All we can do is to pray for them. But as far as i know, government must be in main responsible to us. We are paying taxes for us to be secured by our own government. Many had risking their lives abroad, like what happened to our 3 OFW's in China, they risk their lives, even entering illegal work just to earn.

I love our Philippines, for your question why Filipinos need to work abroad, thats a very difficult to say. If you ask our fellow Filipinos, those who line up at POEA or at a Agency, they will answer different answers. "I want to give my family a better life", "I want to earn big", "This is for the future of my kids", ect. They think that they can give what their family needs. Its about jobs and security, I don't want to talk about politic here cause I know thats not a good choice of topic. We can't blame our OFW because thats what they feel. I don't believe that there is no future here in our country, there is a future here, if we Filipinos have discipline, avoid crab mentality.

Absolutely correct, that's what Filipino's need. We be discipline, and be often minded that we had future here in the Philippines. We must not be selfish to other, and share what we had know to help our fellow kababayan to earn also. We are known before on "Bayanihan Spirit" but it is slowly fading in our time.

i do love the philippines too.. i think that we have a rich culture.. we also have great places to go to that are most often underrated.. as for why most Filipino people choose to go abroad? it's for the obvious reason of wanting to have a greener pasture.. that is, having a brighter future not for themselves but for their family.. indeed, we are losing a lot of great minds and workers from all of those who are working abroad.. but can we totally blame them? guess not..

yah you right, lol. We can't blame them, they had their own dreams, but mind me, you are really correct, we are losing our great workers, our skilled people that we really need to be more competitive in the international trade. We really have wasted our best talent, but as you said, we really can't blame them....
