I think it gets you to eat more of those fun size chcolate candy!
I'm talking about the little individual package kind in a big bag. I think I eat more of the little one than when I have a normal size candy bar.
I bought 3 bags of candies yesterday and almost half is gone... they are so handy that I just open it, throw away the wrap and get another one! My teeth is in trouble...

lol mermaidivy,
I do know what you mean. It is like the potato chips where we just don't get enough. I try not to buy any because if I would I would not know how to save for later they would be gone in one sitting. I remember when I use to buy them turning to them a bit later to find OMG, I almost ate the whole bag.
Maybe what you can do is put them in the freezer and this way they are not so reachable. Although I have to admit they might taste too good frozen too.

I think you may be right, the little size fools us into thinking we have not had very much. This discussion is making me want some kind of a snack, though. It may be icecream.

I think so and it is actually more expensive than the candy bar.

If I buy candy this time of year I am bad about that. I have not bought any, though. We buy Dove Dark Chocolate Promises, and eat one every day. I do not get in trouble that way, but I think when I was younger I would have, because of more stress. I keep my chocolate in the refrigerator or freezer and it is less tempting. I buy M&M candies and melt them in my mouth one piece at a time and that slows me down, as well.

I am upstairs and the ice cream is down stairs. I am so determined to push over a certain milestone, then I will go down and have coffee and ice cream, and work outside a while. I am sorry I make you hungry.

I so love the candy, desserts and cooking discussions we have had in the last few days, only problem is that I get really hungry after interacting. This morning a member posted two meal discussions so now I am cooking. lol
As soon as I saw your comment above I said to my boyfriend, you know what would be good after after our dinner later ice cream. lol

hi mermaidivy oh chocolate, okay pass some throught the monitor. well virtual chocolate would not make us fat. lol I know what you mean as I had several sacks of those tiny bars and ate most of one sack up before I even realized I had done it. I would rather get Lindts dark cholate with raisins and hazelnuts in a huge bar and just break off several
squares. the tang of the darker cholate and the sweetness of the raisins and nuts is a great contrast and for some reason I c an be satisfied with just several squares. I am a diabetic so have to watch the sugar and carb content of things like that.I check my blood sugar three or four times a day and have had no problem with dark chocolates.

I agree, they are a one bite size and actually end up being more expensive than the bigger bars, not only from the cost per weight but also because one ends up buying and eating a lot more of them.
I am surprised that they haven't as yet bought out a mixed bag with about 3 or 4 of each variety. I would think they would sell well and a lot. Imagine the arguments they could cause in a household, hehehehe.

I agree! I think those bags are more expensive and sure it will sell well if they have mixed kind in one bag!

I also love the fun size ones! Because it seems like you could get more of it especially when you buy bags or packets of it. It comes in handy whenever you need it for a short time only, like studying or when you're hungry. If you bought a large size one, it could only last for a day which is not enjoyable at all! But of course, you could savor the taste of the large size longer than the fun size ones. It really comes in convenient especially when you're in a road trip, studying, watching TV, surfing the net and so on.

Haha, it is easier to eat more when they're mini. We had a bag of mini donuts yesterday and I subconciously ate a bunch of them xD.
But yet, if someone gives you 1 or 2 little mini chocolate bar candy things (my friend gave me 2 today), I'd really rather just have a big candy bar.

I think we tend to eat more when the candy/cookie/whatever snacks are small.

I think you're right. The same thing has happened to me whenever I've gotten those bite sized candies. So I don't get them anymore. That way I can't be tempted! LOL
Happy mylotting!

Ingenious marketing idea, isn't it? Kind of like the 100 calorie packs--you're still hungry, so you end of eating more of them than you would if you just ate a normal bag! I NEVER feel like I've had enough after just one fun-sized piece of chocolate, and they're so small anyway, so what's the harm of eating one more? 2 more? 10 more? No wonder I never lose any weight!!!

i know what you mean as you tend to eat more to feel like you have actually eaten some chocolate. but they are good in a way as you can limit what you give to your kids.

Yes and I love chocolates too. I am trying to avoid it now because I am afraid it will affect my health in a way. I already lost one of our family member because of diabetes. Take extra care. God bless!
