I did a search for a subject that I know a lot about and figured I could add something too and it must not be a very popular subject because the most recent thread was from 2 yrs ago. If I comment on an old thread do I still get paid for contributing to it?

Yes, you are paid for contributing to an old discussion just as you are for any participation here. You also 'bump' the discussion into the 'Recent' list and you could well revive it. It's a good thing to do, very often, and the way that MyLot is supposed to be.

Yes you will get paid for your comment on that discussion. Discussions here exist as long as this website has existed and there are many old conversations that are interesting here on myLot. Welcome aboard!
