Is e-cigarette really healthy?

I wonder if e-cigarette is really a better alternative to smoking. Will it save smokers from cancer? Will it really stop smokers from smoking? I actually gave it a try and it tastes like shisha, nothing compared to a real cigarette. What do you guys think?
