Its shocking to see gold rate getting higher and higher due to large investments. Here in India, gold is important at marriages to get wored by bride. Most of the middle classes are suffering with this gold rate. And as a result, we see in news some robbery on gold ornaments. Any predictions share here.

Hi Besthope, the gold price is not even at the peak yet.
Some analysts are even saying that gold will reach a peak of $3,000.
Now is just $1,500, only half of the peak that people are talking about.
I think in the short term, the price of gold will keep going up, until the United States know how to manage its debt.
This big country is really lousy in managing economy, only know how to get into more and more debt.

Hi Besthope, actually the problem is more than US recession.
Looking at the way US government spends money, even though so many people are not working, you can see why people refuse to hold on to US dollar, and start to buy gold and silver.
It is about faith in the US government, and the currency it represents.
I think US needs to find someone who really knows how to manage the economy, and starts to lower the debt.

Hi Scheng1, I agree with you. People of US are not really happy with the government and besides no real steps taken to improve the situation. Well next election can make a change in the atmosphere of US for people to get out of these bad times. Thats a neat answer for my doubt!

Hi Scheng, This is so shocking! So gold rate is yet to reach it heights. Its better to forget gold and wearing gold ornaments. Right the problem is mainly recession and unless US improves, we can never expect to go down.

I don't think it will fall, change of 100 rupees in 10 gram gold price is not going to effect small buyers like me, tomorrow is an auspicious day Akshya Tritiya in India, people buy gold siver gemstones etc
Today, tomorrow and next 3 days the jewelry shops are giving discounts, price is rising daily, it is marriage season too.
Thanks for sharing
Cheers.
God bless you, have a nice day ahead.

I am not sure if gold will ever lose its value. In this day and age plus the worsening of the economy, gold is about the last thing left here that has any value to it.

Hi Stephcjh, Very true. Gold is the only stuff so far not lost its value and remains unchanged in its value and people desire even at worst cases. So no wonder it rises up and people still try to chase it!

Hello,
It indeed is shocking the way gold prices are rising every day. My husband is a chartered accountant and he also dabbles in share market. Last year he had told me to invest in gold saying that it will go upto Rs.25,000/- per ten grams. At that time I did not pay any heed to his advise saying I need not buy more as I have got only one child and everything I own will go to his wife. But thinking of middle class people who have to marry off their children - it really must be hard for them. As last month my sister bought one gold set worth 40 grams for her future daughter-in-law for Rs.1,25,000/-. It really pinched me at that time as it as she has still to buy around 100 grams more of gold. At that time I realized how hard it is for a middle class family to marry off their children these days.

Hi vanitasuri, True middle classes are the ones really suffering. I heard my friend saying that she need 100 savarans for her daughter marriage that she cannot afford in this rise. Unless they stop gold at marriages, it will be tougher.

Hi there, I absolutely adore gold. When i was married, we spent a lot on jewellery. It is nearly a year now that i am married and price of the gold is still increasing. I don't know if this trend will continue. But for now, We can do nothing but just buy it at its selling rate. I am aware that in Indian Culture, gold is of great significance. It is sad to hear that crime is rising because of increase in gold's price.
I hope gold's price will fall in near future!

Hi Sweetme, Nice to hear you love gold. Gold has become part of marriage. People seems to buy even at price hikes. You are right, gold never seems to fall down. Yes crime rates are rising just because poor people have to make up marriages for their daughters.

Hello besthope44, yes isn't that terrible! We Indian women really like to adorn ourselves with gold but with such alarming increasing in the prices it has become very difficult to buy or rather it has become an unattainable thing for most of us!
Yesterday I read about the recent similar increase in the prices of silver. About 8-10 days ago, the price of silver for 1 Kg was INR 50,000 and people went mad and many soldf their gold to buy solid silver bricks as it is now termed a better investment than gold. Yesterday the price of silver was INR 60,000 and today when I opened the newspaper to the page where they update daily prices, it was INR 65,000! I am astonished to say in teh least and wish I had that much money to buy it, then after 2 days when teh price went up further I could sell it and make a neat profit :) :)

Hi Kalyani, Yes I never see women try hard to get gold even the price goes high. Even silver is going high. Yep, I daily check the news and never seems like coming down except for 100 or 50 Rs fall. Thats a good idea, so i think that way a good profit.

Hey kanganong, Its nice to hear even Indonesian loves gold and you have similar tradition. But problem is even silver is going higher at price. So you also have dowry custom in your tradition?
