I try to stay positive on FB. I dont portray a fake life. I have found though some of my friends portray something not real or seem to only do status updates to have others feel sorry for them. I always know there is someone out there who is worst off than me. Does anyone else see this alot? What do you do? Are you a positvie FB update or a constant negative?

You know when life isn't fair it's hard not to turn things into a pity party. That's why if I don't have anything constructive to say I don't. I hardly put any status updates on because I feel like I put my foot in my mouth or there are few responses. So unless it's a stressful or exciting time I don't post much publically but within hidden groups of friends.

I am a status update everyday person. I dont put anything personal. Mainly whats going on with my kids or something. Never if my husband is out to sea or anything like that. I just try to stay positive. Like you I feel I can put my foot in my mouth so just keep it simple and sweet.

I update status on FB about my real experience sometimes, like when there is examination or when I have to notified someone (by using tagging), but most of the time, I use FB to share something like inspirational stories/quotes by updating status on FB. About trying to catch some attention, it's a big NO!

Hi there Tink 91879!
I think everyone's entitled to put whatever they like in their status. There are times when I rant on my status, usually when I need help and when my son is sick but I don't really broadcast problems about family and lovelife since I only choose to share them with my close friends and when I need to talk about it, I do it on phone. I am mostly positive in my status but I do know some Facebook friends who seems to be always ranting on their status.

I have a lot of friends who like to make statuses every second. Just like in Twitter. I really do not like the fact of posting updates on your life in those websites. I only post whenever something funny is going on in life and whenever something bad happened in school (esp when the whole class fail the math quiz) , I usually post encouragement statuses.

I don't see anything wrong with posting about a bad day or whatever occasionally but I deleted one friend because a couple times a day for about a month she posted about the problems she was having with her sons dads family. It started getting depressing after a while.

That is sad. Some people have a misconception on what facebook is about and do not seem to be using it the right way. I have read a few status updates too that tend to be too negative and it doesn't just happen once, but quite often. I mean, facebook is meant to be an avenue to socialize and interact or make friends but there is a lot of negativity around there that is impossible to miss. At some point, it kinda makes me feel sorry for these people.

hi tink,
I also think the same way. I find it so weird that some loves to post everything on facebook wall even the nonsense stuff that no one would like to know. I still use facebook but not in the way that I present myself in a different persona as if I am a different person. I don't like it when a person I know say things about themselves that they are not. It is like they are living a life that don't even exist. Oh, the thing I dislike the most is when someone is updating their status every minute saying things like, "I am cooking pasta right now", "Watching tv", "Sleepy" etc... I find it so annoying, that I sometimes want to respond saying "who the hell cares?!" LOL! hahaha! Staying true and living our lives in the real world is what matters more to me. FB is just another outlet for me to spread positivity and I'll never post negative thoughts or views on my wall.
Happy Lotting!
