Writing letters I think is enjoyable and meeting new friends and people. Do you write snail mail to people from around the world? I enjoy writing people from different places. Have you joined any snail mail sites that you really like?

Hi dominique: I have to say that I use my email and I have rarely used the snail mail but I agree that when you see the paper and the letter written by hand by a special person, specially when the letter comes from someone you love and he is far away from you. ALVARO

Yeah it is such a great joy to receive a letter. It means a lot to me i know. I'm happy to send letters to others to encourage them and to receive them as well. Receiving a letter from family is always great as well.

I too like receiving things in the mail. It is so much fun. I think sassociations is a good penpal place. And it is free so that is always nice. I hope that you are able to find a penpal if you are looking for one.

E-mail , no doubt , has become the fastest way of communication for personal needs or business purposes. But, in many ways, snail mail still remains the preferred way. I still write to my family members and friends living far away from one another. And, they value and very much appreciate getting to read letters sent by snail mail. I like to see their hand-writings too.

I'm glad that you write letters. There are so many people getting away from it. I start wonder when everything is going to be done online. That seems to be where everything is heading.

I agree that using the internet is a lot more convenient. But I greatly like to receive a letter in the mail. I think it's nice to see that others have taken the time to right me.

Yes. I actually enjoy snail mail, writing letters. E-mail is never the same as writing a proper letter, the excitement of receiving a letter, being able to hold and touch it, the scent of it, and visual variety of it. A letter actually means so much more, you can do so much with it, you can add colour, stick embellishments into it, adds little presence, spray perfume all over it, and so much more. So I definitely prefer letters over e-mail. You can tell a lot from a letter about the person you receive from. The handwriting the way it has been presented, it creates a mood, an atmosphere and a better connection between you and the sender. I used to have a couple of penfriends but we have lost touch unfortunately, I didn't realise there were still snail mail websites around, I will definitely look at those!

I agree with you we learn and appreciate a lot from a handwritten letter. It is so much more personal than email or texting. I think it does create a great atmosphere when writing letters. I really appreciate sassociations. It is really great for finding penpals. And I like that it doesn't cost anything. I need to try and find more penpals to write. I enjoy doing things like that it just seems that at time gets away from us with everything there is to do.

I used to love writing letters but now, by the time letters reach to the person, the news is gone :( I snail mail cards but not letters- I'd email or just message them on a social network site or instant messenger

Yes using the technology that we have available is so much faster. I'm trying though to keep writing. I do feel so much better when I receive a letter from someone. I try to take a little break out of my day to read and reflect on it. I'm so happy that I still enjoy doing this.

I love getting letter's in the mail. Much more exciting than bills. I write letters to my family back in england (I currently live in America) They are more personal and heartfelt than an email or a quick hi on one of the social networks. Even though they take more time to write I still prefer them than email.

I agree a letter is much more personal. I'm glad that you keep in touch with your family back home. I'm sure that you miss them dearly and vice versa. But with i'm sure a busy schedule that you have it can be difficult to juggle everything.
