Is it me or do gas prices just rise when they choose to? Gas was under $3.00 per gallon for regular a few months ago. Now you pay almost $4.00 per gallon for regular gas in some areas. Can someone please tell me how gas companies are justifying the recent gas increases? I just don't get it!!!

Gas is insane! I wish it was under 4 but here in Southern California the average gas price right now is $4.19 and that's JUST REGULAR! Some gas stations near the freeway is up to $4.64! It's said to be about $5 in the SUMMER! :(

Lots of things cause gas prices to rise. Taxes, futures trading, mideast turmoil with OPEC nations making decisions that affect the supply, weather makes a big impact at times, politics play a bigger role... oil companies play their part, too, but there is quite a bit that's out of their control.
