I've tried it twice already and I really like it. Well, the first one was knee boarding so technically, I've only done it once. It's really fun to do it with friends.

I tried it once too and I wasn't too good at all. They say if you can snowboard, you can wakeboard, but I am not good at either, so figures! I have knee boarded once as well, but I don't think that is fine. I find it rather boring. I wanted to learn to wakeboard because you watch people do all the tricks, and I think it looks really cool and makes me want to be able to do it. I am going to try again this summer and hopefully it works out better. I think it is best to learn with someone in the water with you and telling you how to get up, so that is what I am going to try next time.

It's actually easier if you know how to skateboard. I, myself, don't know how to skateboard, but my friend's brother who does learned easily how to wakeboard. He managed to stand up after just four tries on the "pro" course. after a few rounds, he almost doesn't wipe out at all! I didn't like kneeboarding either. You're right it's pretty boring. You just kneel and get pulled by the cable. It's pretty hard to navigate it too.
It's really more fun when you have a beginner friend with you. That way, you don't get too self-conscious. My friend who has tried wakeboarding a couple of times accompanied me in the beginner course, she actually amazed everyone when she completed the course on her second try. Me, I managed to stand up on my third or fourth try. Then I managed to go way across the course on my seventh or sixth try. I really want to get into it, but it can be a really expensive sports.
