A lot of websites, programs, exercises and medicine today are focused on how to get someone to lose weight. However, there are only few that focus on how to gain weight especially for a few resistant weight gainers like me. Haha.
I've always been skinny, too skinny as a matter of fact. Ever since I was a kid, I've been like this. I've even gotten skinnier because of the college stress. I'm not anorexic or bulimic. As a matter of fact, it's one of the reasons why I wanna gain weight. I don't want people to think that I have these disorders simply because I don't have them. I eat a lot, I really really do. A lot of times, my friends, parents, relatives and even unrelated people ask me where all of the food goes. I remember last month when I ate at Goldilocks and I ordered Nilaga and two cups of rice. When the waiter arrived, he brought two plates. Then when he saw that I was alone he said "Are you the only one eating Mam?", with a bit of surprise on his tone. In return I told him "yes, why? Is it that surprising". The waiter smirked and simply went away. Haha.
Anyway, I know a lot of people that want to gain weight but never do. I went to the doctor before to have a check up and see if there was something wrong with me. She asked me to undergo fecalysis, but the results were clear. The doctor told me that it could be just normal because I was still a teenager.
However, I still wonder if I ever will gain weight. I wanna be able to wear cool clothes and not let random people say behind my back that I'm too skinny. I wanna be healthy-looking, especially because I wanna be a doctor. Who would wanna go to a doctor who looks like she could be blown away with a strong gust of wind right? haha.

Some people are naturally very thin, my first husband was, and my daughter is, and my son is to some degree. What most people will tell you is that muscle weighs more than fat, so to weigh more you need to exercise to build muscle. Girls and women muscle up differently than men, but doing some exercises will make you stronger and better able to deal with the stress of going to school and studying. You will want to be sure to get enough protein to have something for your body to build from.

Because girls have different hormones they do not build up the large muscles like guys do. You will use lighter weights as well. No, you do not want to use steroids, it is bad for your heart and can cause anger and the weight you put on is not always attractive.

Hey GardenGerty thanks again! Okay, I'll try using lighter weights. How heavy should I use? I am only 85 pounds and am 5"3 tall? And yep, with regards to the use of steroids, of course I won't use them. :)

Actually, my mother was also skinny in her days. She gained weight when she took this meds that her cousin gave her. Later on, she learned that these were steroids. It's a good thing that she found out soon enough because other wise she could've gone sterile. My grandfather was really mad at her cousin.

Hi ohsodianne,
The thing is, I want to be skinny! Grrrr! Hahaha! I eat a lot and I gain weight faster than ever before although, I am not really that fat but I do gained some weight that everyone noticing. I am just wondering why I can't easily lose weight. (Lord...why? LOL) Even if I don't eat a lot still I don't shed pounds like I want to even if I exercise, diet and all.
With your case, as long as you are healthy and eating the right stuff, I guess you don't have anything to worry about. When I was still in college I am super thin but after I graduated and started working I gained weight. I have friends who are skinny but they super healthy, maybe it has something to do with your genes or bone structure (I'm really not sure). Wait until you reach a certain age and you'll see the changes you will have on your body.
Happy Lotting!

I have an average weight and if I want to gain some I will eat, just eat and eat and keep eating...the healthy foods.
And if I want to lose some then fasting and exercise in a correct way will be the solution.
If you still not gain any then accept it that you are born as the way you are. They are many girls out there who wanted to be slim in a wrong way, you know.

Thanks CTHanum! Unfortunately, I really don't gain weight even if I eat and eat and eat. :) I guess I'll just have to wait and see if eventually I'll be able to gain some.

We have the same problem. I am skinny since childhood though i eat a lot. I even took supplements but still it didnt work. When i got pregnant ive gained weight but still they told me that im way to skinny for a pregnant mom. When i delivered my son, i gained weight. I was so happy but then again after 7 months ive loose weight. They thought that i may be sick. I guess i am born this way. Lol! Well they said it has something to do with metabolism. That if your metabolism is fast it will be hard for you to gain weight.

yes, yes, I believe that that's also the reason why I don't gain weight. Anyway, I guess at least we can eat anything we want right? :)
