Am I the only one who actually enjoyed Final Fantasy 8?

I've played through the game several times, but as much as I like it, anytime I bring it up around other gamers, they act as if it were the worst game in creation, let alone the worst in the series. I actually thought that the junctioning system was rather creative and let you rely more on your items or secondary skills for healing or treating status ailments. Plus if you really want to use magic, it's not that much harder to junction lesser magics to your stats so that you can rip up your opponents with Ultima or Meteor. So really, am I the only one to enjoy this game so much? And if you hate it, why?

I want them to make a new version of that classic song "eyes on me" That song is played in my prom, I remember that song plays, My then girlfriend is in the toilet, Then there was this girl who wears a yellow dress, she is pretty but no one dances with her. I offered her to dance, after the song is over, she said thank you, I go back to my table and just in time my girlfriend is back, not knowing I danced with another girl...
I would like to see FF8 to be in the X-box 360... but the final fantasy i wanted to have a remake the most is FF6, I know it has a DS remake but its story is good, it deserves a 3d remake.

well they say that squaresoft is going down the drain for some time now. And if there 2-5 upcoming games all flopped they will be in ruins. That is why i heard some people say that an ff7 remake will save the company. Don't know if its true though but i for one will buy it

I have to say, Im a hardcore player of the Final Fantasy series, i played every single game there's about it, even the ones never translated and in japanese only... compared many times with Dragon Quest; but no other game has given me more joy and kept me like glued to my couch while playing FFVIII, the story line, the graphics (yes i was amazed back then about them) the battle ssytem, the weps and spells, the hidden GF's, you name it.
i still play this game on my PC, and i still enjoy it as when i first played; for me its best than the so popular FFVII; I have debated about this game before and i tot i was kinda crazy for being the only one playing it, i guess im not the only one =P

Of course you're not the only one. People who have true insight of role playing games would know how good Final Fantasy VIII is. Anyway, I like almost all series of Final Fantasy. Starting from the 2d 1st release of final fantasy. I still remember the battle theme of those series XD Final fantasy Rocks!!!

I loved it, too! It's the first Final Fantasy I've ever played and still remains my favorite. I've wasted away countless hours with the card game, too.
I wanted to smack Squall for turning down Instructor Trepe at the balcony.

I enjoyed FF8 too when i was a kid. The ending was great and touching. My favorite moment was when Squall trying to catch Rinoa on outer spaces over the Ragnarook, really love the piano song on the scene. The gameplay was also exciting. I'd almost spent one to two hour just to set up the junction system. Lol

Final Fantasy 8 is actually one of my favorite Final fantasy series(you'll know that when you see my name XD) I believe people thinks that the game is bad because SquareEnix had never came out with a 3d movie version of it. If you compare FF 7 and 8's graphic, FF8 is better.
When FF7 advent children was made, people became crazy about FF7. I admit it's a nice movie but the same effect may occur if SquareEnix makes 3d movie version of other FF series. Be fair Square Enix...
Anyway, FF7 was the first FF series in 3d. Since then, Square Enix made history.

It's been really a long time since I've played Final Fantasy 8. I remembered I finished it several times too, from Disc 1 to 4. The storyline is really great and I love the soundtracks and the OSTs they've done. I'm always amazed by the background music and the options in battle. It is easy to use and you could junction different types of abilities to your characters. What I loved about it is the GFs or the Guardian Forces. They could really be handy boosting up your skills too. I miss Final Fantasy 8 already.

You're not alone, it's one of my favorite FFs. FF fans (and gamers as a whole) are a buncha spoiled brats these days, I believe.
