Is it advisable to give your I.P address to other?

Many users want to know your I.P address by visiting the site whatsmyip.com . One of the reason that they required it after you finish the work.
Is it advisable to give them your I.P and what do you think? you can share your ideas if it is okay to give other users.

There's not really much they can do with your IP address apart from see what location you're in and what provider you use. The location is rarely ever close anywhere. When I do the IP check, it says I'm about 50 miles away from where I actually am anyway. They usually just need this to they can see you are a unique user, and that you're IP is in the country they need you be from.

Usually, ISPs or Internet Service Providers give only one IP Address in a certain geographical area. Say, you're in City A and Globe Telecom provides internet service to 10 customers including you; all of these 10 customers will have a common/shared IP. It will be more costly for a telecom company to provide individual or unique IP address for each customers that is why they provide one IP to multiple customers in a certain area.
