I really love using hair conditioner, especially the leave in creams that you can get, the result is always soft silky shiny hair. But at the end the day creams are artificially made with God knows how many chemicals, so would it be bad to be using hair conditioner every day? Especially leaving it in for several hours a day?

Well, leave on conditioners are indeed very bad to your hair. It may seem to be silky, shiny or frizz free. But after a while you may be a victim of severe hair fall. Specially, we should not allow the conditioner to get into our scalp. Be it the wash away kind of conditioners or leave on!

Hi Bellapop, I have never tried to use the hair conditioner and leave it for hours on my hair.
I use the normal conditioner where I need to rinse it away.
I read an article by the top hairdresser for celebrities about washing and drying hair.
It recommends the alternate use of warm and cold water in washing hair.
That means you wash with warm water, and then rinse it off with cold water, as cold as you can get.
The end result is that the hair is shiny and strong.
I think those leave-in creams are not good. If they are good, then all celebrities can save money on hairdressing.
They can just leave the conditioner on their hair, instead of spending money for the hairdresser to wash for them.

hello,
Me too I always put a conditioner on my hair because it soft and really shiny. right? but does it true that it is bad in our hair, I think not? because every time I use it, every morning my hair is still shiny and soft and at the same time its smells good. Some people say more conditioner it will make more dandruff to lead. But not sure about it.

My partner asked me that question a few months ago. I then read the bottle and found nothing to suggest that it is bad for you or your hair. Some of the chemicals can be harmful like sodium laurel sulfate (sls) but that is a different story. sls is harmful in large amounts and even if you use the whole bottle it ain't that harmful. I know neways sells chemical free hair care products and even better you can earn money distributing their products. www.neways.com. Hope this helps. Take care.

hi bellapop I never use leave it in hair conditioner as its bad for your hair.and I use herbal essence tousle me hair conditioner and shampoo as they have more natural ingredients and really do make my hair shiny and soft without harming it. I have long full hair all white now so any small hair loss does not bother me as its very full, but I love what Herbal essence does to my hair.I have used it for years also I never use too much and rinse thoroughly too much conditioner of any kind leaves your hair greasy and limp looking and makes it get dirty much faster. the herbal essence shampoo I use makes my hair more curly but its all natural ingredients and oh my does it smell good like a really expensive subtle perfume not one of those knock you over heavy perfuemes. just a sweet gentle scent. I have started trying to find more cosmetics with more natural ingredients but be warned one can be allergic to even some of those natural ingredients.

My daughter has a habit of using a lot of conditioner all of the time. I have noticed that after a while, her hair doesn't have the same bounce and body that it should, it tends to look greasy even when it has just been washed, and the conditioner builds up on her scalp. In that aspect, I would have to say that I think that too much conditioner is not a good thing for your hair.
On the other hand, I once knew a lady who had the softest and prettiest hair for her age. She was in her 60's and had short, permed hair. I asked her how she kept her hair so soft, and she told me that instead of using conditioner when she washed her hair, and rinsing it out, she would put a tiny amount in her hand (less than the size of a dime) and rub it into her hair and leave it there all day.
She also said that she was sure to deep clean her hair once a week to make sure there was no buildup.

I have very long hair down my back and I use a lot of conditioner. I have not had any problems with my hair and find it very useful. Only thing is that if it is too much it weighs down the hair and makes it too oily feeling and well no problem just rinse it out thoroughly.

Yup i think it may cause to be hair loss because the more hair conditioner you use the result will be the more hair loss. Even my friend was using hair conditioner and then now he is suffering from hair loss because of excess use of hair conditioner. So beware of that and use in limit.

To much conditioner will give you more pimples, it is advisable that you will have it only for 2-3 time a week of hair conditioning

surely it is bad for your hair. As it has chemicals and their ph value is low that means it is acidic in nature which not only affects your hair but also the growth. It gives temporary shine to your hair and takes away the natural shine and the smoothness. so i suggest you you to avoid it as much as you can.
