Hello there!
Am I the only one who noticed that they still haven't invited Celebrty Mentors in the show? It was one of the things I looked forward to in the show. But now they're approaching the Top 5, and still no celebrity mentor. It's the only season so far without one.
I was looking forward to seeing celebrities, like David Cook or something.
How about you? What's your take on this AI set up?

Yes! JLo is pretty expensive. But I wonder if it was a good investment or not. Steven Tyler is responsible for the increase in rating, and JLo is a good mentor, but I don't know if the audience would prefer to have a variety of celebrities on the show? What do you think?

Different judges, no celebrity mentors..... AI is undergoing changes - for the better I ask? Perhaps this is deliberately to kee[ the show vibrant, alive, and sexy. Next season, they might change the entire voting system to one similar to "You think you can dance". Whereby the public only decides who is in the bottom 3, then the judges deliberate and pick the loser, live on camera.
Rating is all that matters......... My pick for the winner is Casey, btw.
I miss Simon too.

Personally, I think they are forced to make these changes because their budget has cut. Performing in the big theater from the start must have cost a lot. Not to mention JLo's and Steven Tyler's Talent fees. haha
I think I also like the SYTYCD style of elimination. The voting system is very biased. I mean, look what happened to Pia and the other girls!
I miss Simon too. I can;t help but disagree with the judges' comments and think, what would Simon say?

Well, they did have David Cook on there. They have had Constantine come back and perform on their as well, as some other great singers. But I think they need to do more with having other singers mentor them more for sure. Maybe even the ones who are judges be willing to help some of them more as well.

Hello! I don't remember David Cook mentoring for them! When was that? I do remember however, he performed a lot in the shows.
I hear Mark Anthony is an unofficial mentor for the contestants, but is that really all?

i agree with you. we see Jimmy Irvine every week. we need to see other other stars coaching these contestants. A great idea is to have the former winners of American Idol or those who have appeared on the show in the past.

I hope they would invite celebrity mentors soon.
The american Idol is given life when there are former Idols who became big stars who visit the show.
I want to see them again as mentors this time.

Personally I prefer the executives do the mentoring job . Inviting celebrities may work much better on the ratings side but from my view they actually haven't done much of benefit for the contestants .

Yes, you do have a point there. Still, it is more fun with celebrity mentors.
In the past, they got to have celebrity mentors, and they still get to be mentored by voice coaches, and things like that (but behind the scenes).
