So we have done Pizza and a movie with our kids every Friday for years. We had put it on hold when Hubby was doing both school and work but one of the perks of his being laid off is that we can do this again. We picked out a movie for tonight and have everything ready to make pizza to eat while watching it. This is one of our favorite family times does any one else do something like this?

We used to do pizza and a movie every Friday night while my dad went bowling. It was like a girl's night. Just my mom, sister and me. Sadly, my dad does not bowl anymore on Fridays, so
It's a girls night out on Tuesdays, now.

We usually do subs and a movie on Friday night. I think we might go out for Mexican tonight and then come home to watch a movie together. I will definitely pick up subs at Harris Teeter though so I can have one for tomorrow.

Oh yum! We do not have a real good place for subs around her but that sounds so good. Some times we do nachos instead of pizza too.

When I go out to a theatre to see a movie I usually buy popcorn and a soda to share with my friends or family. The food costs more than the movies! And the movie is already 8 or 9 dollars per ticket or 13 dollars each if it is a 3d movie.

That sounds like such fun! When my sister and I were growing up we had a tradition with our parents. Every Sunday night after church we would go get Little Ceasar's Pizza (square cut), and then sit in front of the TV and watch F Troop on Nick at Nite. You know, back when that channel actually showed real classic TV shows. I hated that show but loved the time spent with my parents and sister.

We didn't have cable when I was little. No money for such things.. we usually went fishing or something. I am glad I can do both with my kids

Yes every weekend my family would eat together after a week of eating separately. During the week my mom would eat at work or come home late to eat, while me and my dad ate together. On the weekends all three of use would eat together and make good food.

We do a family game night. What is great is that my kids are all between 14 and 18 and they still like family game night. It is usually Sunday nights unless, of course Sunday Night Football is in season. Then we try to do it on a weeknight. Because my teenagers are dating and have part time jobs as well as school it is hard to fit it in. I am so glad they still like doing this and sometimes the game lasts weeks because we only have an hour here and there. I think that makes it more fun also.
Love my game night. Sometimes a quick game of cards, sometimes a loooong game of monopoly.

We tried games but the big girls don't want to play baby games and the little ones cannot keep up with their games. Maybe when they are a little older and the playing field is evened out a bit..lol

oh my g OpinionatedLady when our children were small and my husband was working as a cook he made me promise that every friday evening was our p izza night at our favorite pizza place. so we and our two toddlers would get in the car and drive down mainstreet in Tempe to this pizza place and we would order this huge pizza. and we all had several pieces.both children love it and they were really well behaved. maybe its because we took them out with us a lot and myh poor mom would say look I love to baby sit but I told her I just did not want the problems my own parents had with my younger sister when we were kids. my dad wo uld pick on my sister and she wou ld misbehave and annoy others so then dad wou ld spank her and that just made it worse. My mom shook her head as she had hated that too but was too meek to stop; my dad. so anyway we always had the best time and my husband was not the spanking yelling kind of dad but he was firm and gentle at the same time.really neither child ever caused any problems. it was just a great time for us all to go out together. at that time prices were so great and it was such a thrill.we did start when they were older taking one night a week for just us two and let my mom babysit and spoil our kids rotten lol those are the things that seemed to keep our marriage rolling along well even when bad things did happen. we supported each other always. I have been widowed for years but look back.

We usually do the same if we have the money. Tonight we are having pizza and all will be here for it. Then later my daughter and I will watch a movie (The Tourist) after my grandson leaves and goes with his sister for the evening. THey will probably watch movies at his sister's place too.

We actually do this every weekend. There are times though that we might forget what we are supposed to do on that weekend. It's really great to be with your family and cherish all the good moments while with them. By the way, the title caught my eye because of the word Friday. I remembered the song and I just can't stop laughing!

I usually do pizza and movies on sundays, and i look forward to sunday every week because of it. i love to look for good pizza recipes before sunday, and try a new one every sunday. If you haven't tried to make white pizza, you should because it is very easy and delicious! When I have a family, I want to do it fridays as well! I think that is a very good, healthy family environment for children. I think starting traditions that your children will remember and tell their children about when they are older is very special.
