When will WWE Hall of Famers become Bad Guys?

When Wade Barrett threw Diesel out of the ring in Royal Rumble, and when Jack Swagger put that ankle lock on Jerry Lawler, and when Randy Orton gave Hogan the RKO about 4 yrs ago, I said, "That's sick. That's disrespectful to the Hall of Famers." I mean, these were guys who were champions before these young wrestlers were ever born. And here they are making a mockery of the legends? Does this mean when you're old, you can be pushed around? Is this the message of the WWE to its fans? I suggest that the WWE create a new gimmick, maybe an NWO Legends gimmick similar to the one WCW made years ago. Remember the time when everyone got shocked when Hogan and Bret Hart joined the NWO? Those were the good old days. Just an idea. The NWO Legends would be composed of Bret Hart, Stone Cold, The Rock, Lawler, HHH, HBK, Diesel, Iron Sheik, Nikolai Volkoff and Piper. They would come out and attack all the young wrestlers in the WWE: Cena, The Corre, Daniel Brian, Drew McIntyre, Sheamus and everyone else. It would be carnage. And Piper would shout out "We were champions before you were born you young punks!" This is a nice idea. Except that, the WWE is still in the PG era. If this was the Attitude Era, this idea would be great.

No one is going to boo Hall of Famers due to the fact that in many ways they are so far and away above the vast majority of the superstars today. I think that your idea would be really interesting, but I think that seeing all of these legends together in one place, being more entertaining the the average cookie cutter youngster coming up in WWE, that would get rather popular with the fans. It is just like the same thing with the original NWO. They were much cooler and related to much more of the audience the lamer WCW wrestlers that went up against them. Hall, Nash, Syxx, and to a certain extent Hollywood Hogan as well. It could be an interesting build to a match at Wrestlemania one year or at least Survivor Series. Actually Survivor Series would be a good thing, because you can have a series of five on five elimination matches, with the stars of today against the stars of yesteryear. That would be a really intriguing Pay Per View and it would not expose the older guys of having lost many, many steps over the years.

On a personal note, I will love this for sure. WWE storylines are indeed getting boring with time and something like this will definitely shook things up. I categorically don't want the Hall of Famers to be bad guys, but when it comes to attacking the young brigade, I am with them. The attitude era was so good and this new PG era is nowhere like that time. As you said, those old times were really good and I will love to see those old wrestlers back in action. This time not to get humiliated!

I love your idea but the majority of the audience right now are kids. The storylines are made for the majority of the audience that's why this idea of yours may not prosper. Look at John Cena, he's the superstar this generation because Kids like him, so as Rey Mysterio. Big Show was part of the attitude era and was a mean personality before but currently, you see him appear on Nickelodeon. It goes to show that the WWE's market is centered on Kids.
