Paul Chandrashekar Valthaty could probably be another plesant name to the Indian Cricket fans in the coming days. This heart throb has already done wonders in the ongoing ipl. A member of the 2002 under 19 cricket squad, poor valthaty had a halt to his career coz of an injury to his eye. And for the next few years he had a nondescript career. only then in 2009 Rajasthan Royals found hired another talent who had a quite session for two versions of ipl. and then this ipl announced himself to the cricketing world with a blistering 120 runs of 63 balls pulling off a great win for the kings XI punjab chasing a total as high as 188. Chasing such totals has always been a trouble even to the best in class batsmen. And that was not where it all ended. He has been performing superbly for his team winning them matches even after that. Moreover he has been involved in a healthy competion with the Cricketing God Sachin for the orange cap. Would be great if this originated from nowhere hero of the ipl 4 bleeds in blue and serve the indian cricket entertaining the fans all over the world.

hi.. if valthaty show consistency then he has the chance to pick up in indian team as a replace to sehwag who is out of form nowadays. valthaty hitting ball well and most of the hits are timed exactly and also he has the power to strike the ball.

Sehwag is a kinda person who does not need time to get back to form. One loose ball and he will kill you in that match. Hope valthaty stands up to people expectations and does not fade away like many have.

Yeah!! friend you are absolutely right this guy have a good future in indian cricket because of his terrific batting. Because of him only Kings XI punjab won the last 3 matches and if he keeps this terrific perfomance then i think Kings XI punjab have a good chance to win this year IPL..

True. The way kings XI played chasing yesterday surely ensures a promising performance. Most of the teams would have crumbled to such immense pressure. On the same day you find a target of 222 in an odi and 231 in a t20(nature of the pitch matters here though). Gilly,Valthaty and Marsh... wow. this is a great trio to have in your batting order considering the form these trhee are in

Don't think so. For tests you need good technique and defence which sadly he does not have. He might succeed in one or two tests due to his aggression in batting but for long term you need solid batting techniques which he does not have. Probably Adam Gilchrist was the best aggressive player having decent technique also in combination to aggression. Sehwag is the best aggressive player but has hand-eye coordination like GOD aand nobody matches him in this area.

Paul is a natural strokeplayer, undoubtedly, but top class cricket is equally a mental game, its about concentration, application, and shot selection. That requires maturity and experience. I think Paul has the talent, but needs to be grooming, somewhat along the lines that Virat Kohli was groomed, and has been able to come good at the highest level.

Everything is going right for Paul Valthaty, a little known 27-year-old Mumbai cricketer, who is fast emerging as the long-sought solution for the genuine allrounder's spot in the Indian cricket team. Though one cannot brand this young cricketer as India's future star based on just the two matches he played, it may be safely assumed that, giving his cricketing skills and body language, he is sure to make it big very soon. On Saturday April 16, he bowled with a magical arm against Deccan Chargers in the ongoing IPL 4, bagging four valuable wickets. And then when he came on to bat, the sense of huge expectations from his fans among the crowd was palpable, and he did not disappoint them. Blasting fours and sixes all over the ground, one after the other, he came up with a blistering knock of 75 runs in just 47 balls !
