A girl can break a friendship. What do you say friend?

I have a friend who was my closest friend in my life. Whenever he wish to go out then he used to take me with him. But when he made a girl friendship because of her he left me without any reason. Each and every day he used to meet her. One day he met me, on the same time she called him and told to meet her but he informed her that he is with me then suddenly i don't know what she said he left me and he haven't met me again. Even i tried so many times to meet my friend but he told only one thing that he can't leave her just because of me. So what do you say friend, can a girl break friendship?

Oh that is so sad to hear. Well, I have a best friend and she is girl but we make sure that we spend time together at least once a week. She knows that I have other friends that sometimes I can't accompany her, and she respect that.
